i'marebel Posted February 7, 2006 Share Posted February 7, 2006 well, kind of i guess. i live with my sister right now and she hates green day - so she doesn't want to hear me go on about them and my friends don't listen to green day at all. i have sort of always been on my own about that (well except for college, but i am not with those people anymore). but it really doesn't bother me to the point where i have an actual "problem" with it. i just talk about other things and then listen to what a want and talk about green day here. I mean if they new know much Green Day really means to me I wounder if they would still say that shit. and even my best friend some times is like " you need to get a life and stop with this green day shit". I mean every fucking day i hear somthing about the band in a negative way. like today on the bus 'When I come around" came on the raido and the guy sitting beside me was like "oh do you hear those fags on the raido" and Im thinking, dude wtf is wrong with you? these "fags" on the raido pretty much saved my life. anyway Here is the only place I can have a normal convoersation about Green Day with out hearing their gay or some shit like that. I wish people would stop thier shit, just because you dont like the band doenst mean i have to hear about it. Only my friend Savannah can relate with me, she used to be an epic GD fan too. Every Green Day shirt I wear on whatever day, she says she likes it. This forum and my friend, Jerry, knows as much about Green Day as I do, if not more. But my boyfriend, he doesn't know much. Guest Shangri-La Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 I don't really talk about it in normal conversation.. the only time it ever really comes up between me and my not-so-green day-enthusiastic friends is whenever i travel to see them. i travel pretty frequently so it's not that out of the ordinary, but most people think it's a pretty crazy thing to do to follow a band on tour. and my roommate just thinks i'm an idiot. For a while I used to talk about Green Day a lot, and after all the American Idiot hype died down around 2006 nobody wanted to hear anything about them anymore. So I stopped talking about them. But tbh, I like it better this way. It's like I have Green Day all to myself, as silly as it sounds. Ila Reto Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 all the time. i used to at least try when i was younger, but over the last 4 and a half years i've learned not to. it saves the frustration and embarassment when they start to make fun of you and you cant find the right words to convince them otherwise. so i only talk to people on GDC and facebook (therefore, people from gdc) about green day. with the exception of my friend brooke who i met in class (and she actually IS on gdc!) maybe im over-explaining this a bit much..... the daughter of rage Posted April 9, 2010 Share Posted April 9, 2010 i've actually learned not to over do it because it just gets me nowhere, i'm better off talking to a rock:) but what really gets annoying when people come over to me and talk to me about how BAD they think green day's music is and shit like that, for example, the other day, i was walking to class when these two girls randomly walked over and asked if they could take a look at the bunch of pins i have on my backpack, so naturally i said yes and then they were like kind shocked that the majority were green day pins (duhh), and they started talking talking about how they both think billie is really stuck up and is really mean to his fans and how green day in general is a bad band and how the brats have better things to do than listening to green day, i mean, really??? c'mon . . . people can be so rude sometimes Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
