No he's saying he loves their music, and people should love em for the music, but he also enjoys the merch and doesn't think it's gone way out of control.

the jos video was the most worthless 9 minutes i've ever experienced. if that's any indication of the movie, the movie will be a holocaust.

i also liked these two lines right next to each other:

Oh fuck you - your negative about everything. What I mean by stuff is that it's great being able to see Green Day on TV all the time and having access to Green Day clothes, and other merchandise, and having the chance to see them live 3 times in one year - thats awesome. But the overall point is - no matter what goes on with all their merchandise and TV apperances, all you need in the end is the music, so who cares if they are going over the top with the merchandise and the movies - do you get what i'm trying to say?

If you don't like the JOS video then fine, thats your opinion - but I think alot of Green Day fans would disagree with your views.

Go to hell, I hate you. With a passion. I am well aware of the album, and the symbol. But nowhere are they are not an emo band. If you actually looked at the message behind the album, you would know. But your head is too far up your ass to see it.

andres is being kinda hypocritical in here. one second he says "all you should care about is the music, thats what really matters" then next he says "i love the merch i just got back from buying posters"

He is not being hypocritical he said you should only care about the music, and as a different thing he said that he loves to buy the merch, i don't see the hypocritical part of it

No, they are not "emo". Eyeliner does not equal emo. Since when can men not wear eyeliner and be normal? It's ridiculous. I hate stereotypes. Hating bush? Wtf? What does that have to do with emo...that's on a whole different scale. The "cutting" was two seconds, and it was not slit my wrists and die, it was different.

Where have all these Green Day haters come from?

No clue, but why they can't crawl into a hole and die is beyond me.

im not a green day hater. thats the most riddiculus thing ive actually ever heard. theyre my favorite band, but their not perfect. and if you would open your eyes, or knew anything about their history, and what they claimed their beleiefs were, you would QUESTION it like me. I enjoy their music a lot, and used to think they were the coolest people ever, but now its more that i think is a little stupid that i thought of my idols as people ive never spoken to in my life.

hmm, there seems to be something a little hypocritical about saying "fuck you" to someone, then calling them negative, all within the same sentence, no less. also, i won't put too much stock into a lot of green day fans opinions on their music videos, seeing as how green day could all take a collective shit in a bucket and film that for four minutes, only for their fans to hail that as brilliant as well.

well the heart grenade fits perfectly into the exact "trendwhore emo shit" category that you brought up.

Yeah ai is stretched out a bit but i dont mind cause i love the music but

I dont think they've taken it too far with the merch cause i havent even seen any merch by them. There's like no Green Day stuff in NZ ( or maybe i dont look hard enough).

I know alot about their history and thier past beliefs, but do you not understand that people grow and change - Green Day are still the same awesome band that you thought were "the coolest people ever" - but they have grown up, had families, opened their eyes and looked at the real world - They have managed to get the whole fucking world interested in their music, without wearing bling bling and singing about their biatches. They have made real music appeal to the mainstream, whats the problem? that they are making money? that they are not causing havoc everywhere they go? they are successful, get over it.

The "cutting" was two seconds, and it was not slit my wrists and die, it was different.

so i guess the fact that the cutting was brief means that it didn't happen at all and we should forget about it. also, i'm pretty sure that normally when someone cuts their wrist, they dont die. surely, many posters on this board can attest to that.

i'm saying for those people who claim to lose respect for the band because of their marketing, all that should matter is their music. For me personally, i love all the marketing.

No, I'm not.

i love him too.
