They say everyone old and new are their fans. They don't consider only their old fans the real fans like you do. So my question to you is if they consider all fans to be their fans then why do you feel they have abandoned you? Because they certainly dont think they have abandoned anyone. They have been a part of my life for longer than they have been part of yours and I dont feel abandoned or like I need to abandon them since they arent the same carbon copy of themselves from 15 yrs ago. People change and evolve their whole lives. I imagine your mom and dad are totally different than they were 15 yrs ago. I know I am. Bottom line is if you like their music then you should like them. If you dont then you should move on. But if you like the music but think they arent who they say they are when all you really know if their stage persona (chances are you have no idea who they are because you dont know them personally) maybe you should rethink how seriously you are taking GD.

i have literally over a hundred preformances and interviews of green day, comparing dookie to american idiot, yea there is a difference, billies voice is slightly lower...its like he finally ended puberty and the age of 31

okay that was me trying to lighten the mood, there is a huge difference between american idiot and dookie, i think its just sad that people are always comparing them...its like when your mom makes you lasagna but your aunt makes it better, and your dad keeps bringing its up, sure, your aunts lasaugna tasted better, but your moms came with meaning and love...inside of the lasaugna....if you get what i mean

alright, ive done a lot of thinking over the past few hours.. A LOT, and i really overreacted in this whole thing. its reall not that big of a deal, its just a band. I enjoy listening, watching em, and their interesting in interviews. im gonna continue to be really interested in em, even tho they have done a few dumb things. i take back some of what i said. their life and what they do i really shouldnt care about too much, as long as the next cd isnt any drastic changes for the worse, ill continue to be a huge fan.

Thats why i think manmy older people attached to them.
