Green Day songs on a guitar

Hitchin a ride, Minority, When I come Around, American Idiot , Good Riddance are all fairly easy - but with practice I'm sure you can play any Green Day song :)

Here's a great website for guitar tab

Good luck with your practice

id say warning is the easiest. it just uses 3 chords and its good for beginners cuz most people who just start out try and learn some hard song and give up. plus it practices A, D, and G which are very common chords

Definitely Brain stew would come at number one, its funny when you hear it before knowing how to even hold a guitar you think ' that shit is hard', maybe hard core but most of these songs have a complicated simplicity to them, like a lot of songs on their first two albums- they are edgy and creative, yet simple to 'technique', by the mere onlooker. I love playing When I come around and Hitchin A Ride, the guitars on there are like Angeline likes to say, Bitchin!

Wicked suggestion guys...I think I might try Going To Pasalacqua...I love that song...how long did you guys as beginners, take to master a song?

Took me about an hour or so when i first started. I have been playing almost a year and can learn pretty much any Green Day song in 10 minutes. The easiest would be Brain Stew or walking contradiction.

The easiest song ever to play is "All By Myself". But I've found WMUWSE pretty easy to me, practice makes it much easier.

Brainstew on bass

This is it if you can read tab:

G---------------------------------------------

D---------------------------------------------

A---------------------------------------------

E---5-5-3-3--2-2--1-1-0-0-----------------

Over and overagain.

But I add in extra stuff to give it an extra zing

I'm still kind of new at bass,Almost 2 years I've been playing,New Enough?

I'm interested in learning to play guitar, and as Green Day is my favorite band, I think something that would keep me interested is learning to play their songs. What is a simple song of theirs (preferably one of their popular) ones that I could learn to play first?

Start by reading this thread. It has a lot of good suggestions in it.

Most songs before and around Dookie era are pretty easy, and usually only require 3 or 4 chords. And not even real chords, power chords. Although, the solos back then were completely insane and awesome, so be careful of some songs 1039 and Kerplunk that have ridiculous solos.

Once you can switch to any power chord without having to stop (any chord on the neck) and know the major and minor bar forms, you can play almost any green day song. So just practice that and they will come to you. All you'll have to do is look up the chords and youll be able to play it in 2 or 3 minutes.

^Your sig is insane

Try 21 Guns. It's easy and you can see the strumming pattern on youtube. The real deal. Billie's.

Every Green Day song is easy once you practise a lil bit

but as someone already said, the solos on 39/smooth are crazy

I found that east jesus nowhere was pretty easy! Same goes for waiting and warning, as well as Know your enemy... i've been playing for about a year or so and i learned them most of there in under five minutes each so you should be fine! Just remember don't overload yourself with a billion songs or really hard ones. Start slow and work from there, that means don't give up after a week because something seems to hard or unmanageable. I'm sure you'll do fantastic! Oh, and good luck!

I'd say Good Riddance is one of the easiest GD songs to play with the guitar....It's the 1st song I've ever learned to play! xD

Maybe it'll take u some time to learn the exact rythm of the song!

Basket case is also quite easy to play. The only difficulty could be the speed, cause there are a few chords which are go around throughout the whole song but they're played quite fast...
