Christian's Inferno! Coming after Father of All, it came off as lazy and low effort. I get they were in their “off the cuff” mode of operating but I want them to give a little bit of a fuck, y’know? Not every song has to be Jesus of Suburbia but I don’t think it’s too much to ask to be able to tell what the idea being conveyed in the song actually is. Pollyanna and Holy Toledo were much better in that regard so I didn’t get fussed about them. I mean, yeah I agree with you. The song is crap. But idk, I just think they had to release a song for the NHL and they didn't have anything else to use. And for that purpose, I think the song is serviceable. Would I ever purposely listen to that song in my own time, no. But I give as much of a shit about the song as the band did. I didn't think it was gonna be an indicator of future Green Day material and I don't consider it a song that killed my entire family like some fans would've had you believe with how they talked about it. That Dude
I spelled the name wrong for this topic if someone wants to fix it. I have never typed Belushi in my life so it's tough. Bee-Lushy is how I remember. B E A dutiful. Anyway. Green Day and Mrs. Armstrong should be Ghostbusters. THAT would be a fun film.

Popular Post GuitarPunk94
love this song! nothing "special" but it has a nice flow we can be very thankful that they continue doing what they love and live for, since almost 40 years! today was a pretty standard day for me, but finishing work and seeing the announcement of the saviors deluxe edition AND getting a new song made my day! the feeling of hearing a new great song from them never gets old 4

Nezirath270
Glad that they didn't put it on the saviors album last year. But it's nice we're getting b-sides again it's been so long. It's on the same level as Here comes the shock, Polyanna and holy toledo. If the rest of the 4 new tracks are on that same level as those singles released during the covid era then combine those covid era singles + 5 new songs from the deluxe and you have a green day album 8 track album. What am i saying i'm crazy don't mind me
That Dude
The subtitles in the video are.....completely whacked. Heat. Yeah Heat. Applause. Heat Heat Yeah. Stop. Haha
That Dude
Just to confirm, none of these new Saviors tracks are going to be that (redacted) song from Devil May Whatever thing, right? This is what Copilot has to say about the song. I asked which Belushi the song was about, lol Green Day's new song "Smash It Like Belushi," part of the deluxe edition of their album Saviors, seems to reference the chaotic and rebellious spirit associated with John Belushi. John, known for his wild antics and larger-than-life personality, was a legendary comedian and actor, particularly famous for Saturday Night Live and Animal House. The song channels themes of mental health struggles and isolation, which align with the raw, unfiltered energy often attributed to John Belushi's life. It’s a fitting nod to the kind of unrestrained, unapologetic attitude Green Day has always embodied. What do you think of the track? Does it resonate with their classic vibe?
DookieLukie
This really fits with Here Comes the Shock and Holy Toledo in terms of lyrics and sound. Doesn’t sound like it fits on Saviors. Maybe another in-between song made before the final Saviors sessions?

redline punk
Look, at this current stage I actually liked this song. I’m not expecting anything epic from here on out. To me, this feels like a FOAM-era song with Saviors-level production.
Saviour
Yeah, in 2025 you really don't know what you're going to get from this band when it comes to b-sides (let's call them b-sides for argument's sake). It does feel like their b-side golden age was between Nimrod and American Idiot, but maybe that's just an age thing. Sometimes you get an absolute HEATER like Holy Toledo, sometimes you get absolute trash like HCTS. This one falls towards the latter category I'm afraid. Not total dogshit like HCTS, but an instantly forgettable song IMO.

I can't see any credits on youtube. But also, Butch Walker was credited for additional engineering for all tracks on Saviors, and credited as producer for Fever. So if it's just a credit for additional engineering, I don't think he had much of a role here. Anyone else feel that having to wait 43 days for the other 4 new tracks (and 2 acoustic renditions) is kinda ridiculous?

devilskind92
I really enjoy this song! At first I just thought it was okay-ish, but it's grown on me the more I listened to it.
