Every song on Saviors has a similar style visualizer video. I don't even think it's a "single", it's just a Deluxe pre-release track and they're not gonna make much money off of it at all. They didn't give an announcement for the song's release prior to releasing it, they just released it alongside the announcement of the Deluxe album. Idk what point you're trying to make. The band hasn't said anything about the song, they announced it on social media and YouTube and even there they didn't make any statement about the quality of the new tracks but also even if they did, they're not gonna say "Yeah these tracks are pretty mid. Listen if you want". They're trying to promote a deluxe version of their latest album. 6
nopride84
It's a single because it's a single song released to promote this deluxe edition. It's all about the money they gonna make off the new colored double vinyl ad now the cd again. Also let's talk about how they drop it the day the world is watching trumps tarrifs. Funny how they had no problem cashing in on the Iraq War and the Bush presidency but kee their mouths shut now except change afew lyrics live. If you think this isn't about cashing in releasing the cd for 20 bucks and double album variations at 40 bucks or more and also when they released it the first time it wasn't tied into promoting their stupid coffee then you need to actually look at what theyveeen doing. Green day stands for a different green now. I mean look how he was promoting that watch on the dl at the Grammy or whatever always having it in the photos while everyone else had a watch to show off too. Where is the watch now? How about when wolverine ad Deadpool came out in theaters and mike and tre dressed at wolverine ad Deadpool on stage adit made headines. You think that wasn't planned advertising for the movie? You think hiding the title of american idiot on devil may cry wasn't bullshit advertising?

Popular Post Mollyluna
Well, I like the song. It makes me happy, and I‘m even more happy that there are more songs to come. I‘ve also ordered the vinyl de luxe because that’s another thing to look forward to. If someone doesn’t like the song or the offer of a de luxe version, well there’s no obligation to buy it… And I don’t need Billie to criticize politics all the time. In times like these just a happy sounding new song is enough to lift my spirits and get out of the misery of the daily news. 4
Popular Post stories and songs
Breaking news: Professional musicians want to make money! There’s virtually no money in streaming, which is why physical media is pushed so hard by record labels today. There’s a deluxe edition of most albums these days along with tons of vinyl variants for a reason. It’s a standard industry practice at this point. Anyway, I’ve been around Green Day long enough to know a lot of their b-sides are just okay. And that’s fine. They’re just very good at curating what goes on their main albums. I’ll never be mad at getting more Green Day than I expected. 10

You think hiding the title of american idiot on devil may cry wasn't bullshit advertising? Okay, sure. But what would you have them do? They're not political activists or politicians. They're a band. An American band working within the capitalist system. So they make money off of their music, their performances, and advertising. Even if they were 100% against capitalism, they'd still live in this system and as such would ever have to dance to the music like they already do. Also, they're a bunch of silly guys in their 50s. I honestly don't know what you expect them to do.
Popular Post stories and songs
In addition to not being politicians or political activists, they’re also not a nonprofit lol. I’m not sure why people act scandalized when artists have expensive tickets or claim merch and vinyl variants are a “cash grab.” No shit, this is their job. You can love what you do and still not volunteer to do it for free. Listeners can have Spotify for free or listen on YouTube. As fans, no one is holding a gun to our heads to buy anything from them. But a lot of time and resources and therefore money goes into recording and touring. And the guys put their own money into the Saviors-era music videos. So that has to be earned back somehow. It’s a business like anything else.

You think hiding the title of american idiot on devil may cry wasn't bullshit advertising? This is no different to things they've done in the past. Fire Ready Aim and Here Comes The Shock made for the NHL, Holy Toledo and The Forgotten released as singles alongside movies they appeared in, Know Your Enemy in WWE, 21 Guns in Transformers, Green Day: Rock Band. Promoting your music and making money is apparently bad now. I've not seen the band do anything egregious. Deluxe albums are things pretty much every artist does nowadays, you don't have to buy them. The songs are all gonna be available on streaming anyway. If you bought the original album, no one's forcing you to buy it again. How many people even listen to the physical CDs & Vinyls that they buy, people usually buy these things to add to their collection while they listen to the album on streaming where it's much more convenient. Popular Post Dingle
With all the shit that's going on in the world, it's a welcome distraction, to escape and come on here and discuss a new GD song, and smile again. We're always gonna disagree on each song's merit's, that's cool. What never ceases to amaze me, is Billie Joe's awesome song writing skills. What an amazing talent he has, please don't stop. As for generating more income, I'm no expert in how this works. I can only guess the record company has to recoup it's costs and make profit of course. I remember times in the 90's when band gave up some of their income to offset ticket costs for fans at live performances. They're always promoting charitable events, and performed additional live events at small venues. And there's the Coverups live shows of course. Can't see them making much from those. Will never forget how lucky I was to be in the right place at the right time to see them live at a small pub in London. As always, from the early years and as now, it's about the fans , you and me, they just want to play their music and share it good or bad, what more can we ask. What was it Mike Dirnt said, "Listening to Green Day is like sex. when it's good it's really good. when it's bad, it's still pretty dam good. " 😁 3

Popular Post GDFan2019
What a strange turn of events this has been!!! First we get the Devil May Cry tease with the Green Day song crossed off on the CD (it ended up being American Idiot) only to find out they really are releasing new music!!! I wonder if the band themselves are behind the Devil May Cry prank as it was around April Fool's Day!!!
