Yeah Jenna Fischer teased this on her podcast like 3 years ago and then nothing came of it, I'm assuming because of her cancer diagnosis

Finally there’s some news about this. The casting call sheet says Green Day also star I wonder when they’ll shoot their scenes and whether it’s just a cameo. This seems like another semi-biographical Green Day story from Kirk, a twist on a biopic using a random trio to mirror their tour stories. Do you think they’ll include Sleepy, the head in the jar? 😜 

Also I know it’s a poor pun of New Year’s Eve but I hope the title changes by release time because it’s awful. I recall Ordinary World also had a cringy working title of Geezer before Billie saved it with his song.

Another thought, the premise of this also reminds me of Riding in Vans With Boys with these guys playing the part of Kut U Up (was that the band name?)

They MUST include Sleepy! Yep, Kurt U Up was the band name.  Thought that project had sunk without trace, I hope they do have a cameo at least.

The most exciting thing for me about Ordinary World was seeing Sean Gunn Kirk and Billie together. It was like two of my favorite worlds colliding. The only thing missing was them stumbling into Hogwarts somehow

I’m never going to get over the lack of a proper film of the musical with Billie in it.  I love Broadway Idiot but it doesn’t give us the full performance, which we know he completely nailed.

Will Green Day or Billie actually star or be in this movie aside from a cameo? Wish it was a bio movie of the band and not a story inspired by early road trip stories.

I hope they're in the film a lot but acting skills might rule that out . Don't think I've seen Mike or Tre act in anything since the Chris Isaak show like 25 years ago and they were in it for about 10 seconds.

American idiot movie is in area 51 . You're gonna fight a guy called crazy mike who didn't leave the studio for many many years. Legend has it billie and tré didn't come back to the studio and left mike there up to this day.

Isn't that casting call quite misleading? 😅 Green Day is in Asia on their way to Australia when this filming takes place, but it sounds like Green Day would be actually there 😅
