Donald Trump has won, now album 15 has the potential to be a great one!!!!

Okay, first, let’s put our politics aside and agree on one thing, We’re all Green Day fans here and we know how Billie feels about Trump!!! I’m sure Billie is sitting down writing some new songs as we speak!!! The album can go 1 of 2 ways, an angry album about his hatred of Trump, or an honest album about himself coming to terms with the realization that we’re actually much better off with Trump in charge, and being afraid to admit that!!! Also, do you guys see the next album coming out in 2028 or sooner?

There won't be a Trump album. Billie has been vocal about not wanting to write about him if he can help it. Of course it has inspired a few songs despite him saying that, but I doubt it will be a major influence. There certainly won't be any songs about him turning out to be great. Billie has felt this way about him for much longer than most people have been aware he exists.

Personally I'd rather have more lost love songs than an anti-Trump album. It won't change anyone's opinion. What is there to say about Trump that hasn't already been said by a million different people on both sides, anyway? He's what he is. We all know that whether we like him or not.

The democrats really need some kind of revolutionary candidate going against the democratic establishment just like Bernie Sanders did. Yet another moderate nominee is not going to appeal to the 15 million people who stayed home in 2024 compared to 2020. The democrats really can't wait for the republicans to have another crisis like Covid in order to win. They need a message stronger than "I'm not Trump".

I'm not expecting another AI/21CB album but Billie for sure has a chance of writing some political commentary that really hits this time around. It's for sure gonna be a dark period for politics

Billie has said he gets no inspiration from Trump and doesn’t want to give him that attention, and I don’t blame him.

Amazingly, I feel like the most effective things that could be said on this topic were already addressed on American Idiot. That album is proving to be ahead of its time in a rather unfortunate way.

Will Billie Joe write directly about Trump in the near future? Probably not. However, I hope he gets inspired to write about what is happening to America. He and the band have always been one of the loudest voices in against America turning into a fascist theocracy, which is now closer than ever. Many people that hoped Trump would lose are feeling dejected and have lost their faith in humanity, and in America as a country. Many people are terrified of what will happen once he takes office. My hope is that the band takes this opportunity to make music that inspires and rallies everyone to get mad and fight back, and we've absolutely got to fight back.

You don't understand, bread costing slightly less (which probably isn't going to happen anyway) is a much better outcome than fascist bigots being in charge of the presidency, the house, the senate and the already very conservative supreme court. A party that specifically doesn't support and votes against every position and policy that the majority of the American population support being in charge is apparently a good thing
