European tour 2025

I'm still in denial about Green Day only playing one date, and have that be a festival, in the UK. 2 solo shows in Vienna and zero in the UK? It feels like Green Day touring the US and not doing a stop in California.

I have no info, no sources, no clues, and no leads, it's just my gut feeling.

So much theorizing and none of us saw the Denmark show coming... maybe they'll surprise us again. Maybe I'm wrong and it will only be Download.

If they are headlining download, And that’s still an IF, but if it is download historically they don’t allow their headliners do anything other shows

I waited 4 hours in the pouring rain to see Busted at Haydock Park this year. You've now put the thought/hope/delusion in my mind that I'll be doing the same for Green Day at somepoint 😅

Sorry about that!😁

They played stadium shows in England and across Europe both in 2022 and last year, the only festival they played in England in a while was Isle of Wight which still allowed them to play the stadium shows last summer in the UK. With as much competition there is in the summer for tours, Green Day probably doesn't think there is the demand for more stadium shows, instead headlining a festival they never headlined before that happens to be very strict with their headliners. It's why Foo Fighters, Blink, GD, etc never headlined Download before.

Oh the demand for stadium shows would be there for sure. I mean they only played what four or five dates over here in the UK. Always alternative stadiums they could play. Just saying!

The complaint is partly about these stadium shows with multiple bands though. No one wants them and it's been 7 years since the last normal show in the UK (Sheffield Arena in 2017). There's a cost of living crisis here at the moment so not everyone can afford to fly out to the EU shows. It's inevitable that a lot of British fans will be disappointed if they play an exclusive festival.

Disclaimer: Obviously I'm not personally affected because I've already seen them on this tour, but I'm sad for the British fans who haven't and won't if Download is confirmed.

It is just very annoying that they can play arenas in Europe but not in the UK. If they can fill stadiums, they can fill arenas. In fact the demand for tickets would be even higher so I genuinely cannot understand the logic.🤔 I don't mean to sound really whingey, because any tour date/festival is a gift!

I did a bit of digging in the internet archives. Green Day was announced as a headliner for the Hurricane and Southside Festivals 2017 (June 23-25, 2017) on September 6, 2016. However, their only standalone headlining show in Germany that summer (Munich, June 7, 2017) wasn’t announced until March 1, 2017—just about three months prior. Notably, in January 2017, Green Day was already on their own arena tour through Europe, which might have influenced these announcements.

This year, the headliners for the Hurricane and Southside Festivals 2025 were announced on September 12, 2024.

Only way they would play another UK show unfortunately would be if the people in the know are all wrong and they aren’t headlining Download.

I did quick research to see how strict Download truly is, they have had big names headline, and they didn’t even let AC/DC, Metallica, GNR, etc play other UK shows. Only exception was they would allow a headliner play Glasto but because that wouldn’t affect Download sales.

Download is a huge festival with a very high capacity that certainly would have paid GD a huge huge huge check to headline, which seems to be the case with them emptying their budget on GD with the other two rumored headliners…

Of course I hope I’m wrong and maybe Download finally eased up on its rules.

Just got a physical ticket in the post for the Vienna show. I’m surprised because 1) I’m 99% sure I selected eticket and 2) I legitimately didn’t know physical tickets were still knocking about - every show I’ve been too in the last 5 years or so has been eticket

They played huge stadium shows in the UK in the summer, so not really surprised they're not doing more next year outside of the festival circuit.

If they're in the country though you know there'll be a surprise gig in London somewhere.

The shows in Germany (Hamburg at least) this year had physical tickets and it was such a huge shock to me! And a mayor annoyance too when I bought the ticket on the re-sale because the official re-sale site at least would only ship to Germany, so I had to bother (a lot) a friend who lives there 😅

I am pretty sure I checked the e-ticket option, but now I wonder if I'll get the physical one too 🤔

So I was able to download my tickets for Vienna as a PDF right after purchase (this was called Ticketdirect).

A further thought it, I only bought it a week ago. To get it processed, printed, posted and received by me in a week is incredible especially considering the show is in 8 months! Ticketmaster could learn a thing or two.

Are you doing night 1 or 2?

I don't think anyone who's active in the thread has been to that festival before. It's info here:

https://tinderbox.dk/en/faq/

https://tinderbox.dk/en/camping-2/

And you can also email the festival: info@tinderbox.dk

Stage side north for Night 2, but I’m in Vienna for both. Considering doing Night 1 too, but also thinking of other things to do there instead

Yeah in Germany we still use physically tickets for collecting and we‘re really late when it comes to digital like our bad Internet 😂

But most of our concert/Festival Ticket are physical

To be honest, I quite like that! Those physical tickets are nice souvenirs afterwards…

And it's easier when it's doors and they check tickets. At the stadium shows this summer some had issues with accessing their tickets. I prefer tickets that I can either print myself or get sent by mail.

How does Ticketmaster resale work? My brother would like to come with me to Amsterdam show but I know that it's sold out. The page says:

"Resale Tickets will appear below when they are available."

How does that work? I'm looking for a one golden circle ticket.

People can sell their tickets through ticketmaster. When there's tickets available you chose which ones you want to buy, you pay through ticketmaster same as with other tickets and then the ticket will be transfered to your ticketmaster profile.

I have both sold and bought resale tickets before. It's very easy. 😊

Do I have to check randomly if there are any available or can I know somehow in advance?

As far as I know you just have to check regularly. Resale tickets will be available whenever someone registeres their tickets for sale.

You have to check regularly. With a bit of patience I'm sure you will find one. I'm guessing right now as the tickets just went on sale, there might not be too many people reselling any time soon. If they announce any more shows (especially if they were to announce any solo show in the UK) might be a good time to check, as people who were planning to travel might change plans if there's a show closer to them, and resell their tickets.

Does anyone have experience with reselling VIP tickets? Is it possible to do so without any issues, given that my email is registered with 237 Global? It’s an e-ticket.
