I notice the same pattern for the summer 2025 tour as in summer 2017, when they played Southside and Hurricane. Contractually, they’re not allowed to perform in the catchment areas of these two festivals. This essentially leaves only the eastern part of Germany, and they’ve already played in Berlin this year. In 2017, for this reason, they held their own show at the Olympiahalle in Munich. Leipzig?
Insomniac90
In summer 2017 they had Hurricane, Southside and Munich. So its still possible but I hope for Cologne, Dortmund, Hannover or something like that 😕

GuitarPunk94
what about Frankfurt in germany? or anything, its been 7 years .. yet again, they have currently 10 cities during their european (festival) tour, with only 3(!) of them being real solo-shows
Tomcat20
I’ll say it again: Green Day playing at Hurricane and Southside limits where they’re allowed to play their own headliner shows in Germany. Once a band agrees to play at a major festival like that, there are often geographical exclusivity clauses in the contract. It’s the same situation as with Rock im Park and Rock am Ring. Because of this, they could only schedule their own shows in the north for summer 2024—in Berlin and Hamburg.
Beathe.
Hamburg is on my list over cities to visit and I love Berlin so. 🤞

Because in Germany during working days open air events have to stop at 10pm because of local residents (hope this is the right word 😂) so they had to rush during Good Riddance this year. We call it „Nachtruhe“ 😂 4 hours ago, Susi Sour cream said: And around the expected date there is no event listed yet on the website of the Lanxess Arena. In my opinion, the standing area was way too small for a concert like Green Day. But the worst have been those STAIRS! 😵💫Just too many of those damn stairs 😂Especially the way back upstairs after the show was like hell. Maybe I'm just getting old 😂

Susi Sour cream
So I just looked up the event calendars of some other possible (indoor) venues in Germany: The Olympiahalle in Munich has an event listed from 18th - 21st, so that's definitely out. The Westfalenhalle in Dortmund could be possible. There's an event listed from 14th - 15th and after that nothing else in June Festhalle in Frankfurt has nothing listed in June yet Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig also has nothing listed in June yet Rudolf Weber-Arena in Oberhausen has something listed on 14th and the next one on 24th ZAG Arena in Hannover has something listed on 17th and the next one on the 26th. So, that's for now 😅 There may be other venues and of course more cities, but those are the ones that spontaneously came to my mind besides Cologne. 1

I suppose they could do both? Oslo 26th, FinlandEstonia 27th, Barcelona 29th, and Luxembourg 30th? But I'm exhausted just typing it, so it might be a bit of stretch. Pretty much us right now 😅 I guess we'll have to wait and see. But I'm loving all these theories. They sure know how to keep us in our toes EDIT: Thanks @sampy for the geographical correction! Resurrection Fest and Barcelona Rock Fest will announce on Monday that headliner and the strong rumours are that it will be Slipknot. I’m pretty sure that Green Day will end the European tour in Madrid (Mad Cool) and Lisbon (NOS Alive).

Sounds like a logistical nightmare and it's easily 4000 km on the road. That's certainly not going to happen. The tour will end in Athens, I think. After that, Billie and co will take a little vacation on santorin like right after the American idiot tour. 🤣
GreenDay_Fan
If they do play an extra show in Germany that's outside of the Radius Clause of Hurricane/Southside that can't be announced until a later date, it'll most likely be on that June 24th. Following the pattern of a show every 2 days except for Vienna, I think the following dates will be: June 13th: Download Festival (To be announced soon) June 20th and 22nd: Hurricane/Southside June 24th: Extra Show in Germany? June 26th: Tons of Rock June 28th: Tinderbox 2 hours ago, Tomcat20 said: Trucking all the equipment back from Athens to Portugal? If the price is right and they get millions for playing two extra festivals, I don't think they will turn it down to headline.

If there’s a solo show in Germany, it’s gotta be on June 23 or 24 (Hurricane/Southside will almost definitely be on the 20th and 21st; when they played there before, they did one show after another without any days off in between). But there’s still no date for France, so they might play there on the 23rd/24th. 9 hours ago, bed1am said: Resurrection Fest and Barcelona Rock Fest will announce on Monday that headliner and the strong rumours are that it will be Slipknot. It’s pretty unlikely they’ll go back to Mad Cool after what happened in 2017; seems like they don’t have a great relationship with that festival. If they don’t start the tour in Spain at the beginning of June like they did this year —and this time it looks like they’re starting with Download in the UK on the 13th— I don’t think Spain will get a show, unfortunately. The tour will most likely end in Athens. Edited November 2 by DearlyBeloved87

If I had to bet I'd say the tour would end in Greece, but just saying there are possibilities in Spain/Portugal if the money is right. It just feels weird that they'll skip Spain, Portugal, and France on this Europe run. I think that extra show on the 23rd or 24th would be in Germany, if it was in France, I don't see why they wouldn't announce it yet with the other individual shows.
