Awesome I loved this show! Such positive vibes on the Rev Rad tour and we got really lucky and were one back from the end of the barrier so it was the best view of Billie ever 🔥. They played Forever Now . There was an epic sax/kazoo battle in KFAD/Shout. And this was absolutely heartwarming 1

More photos on the GDA Tumblr There's a recap of several Asian shows on GDA, but here's the recap I posted in the thread after the show: Spoiler The taxi driver who brought me into town said 'I can't believe you came to JAKARTA just to see Green Day' and I can't believe I'm coming here to say I did indeed go to Jakarta just to see Green Day. 😂 Back when I first became a fan, I read about the crazy Jakarta show in 1996 and thought I'd like to see them here one day, but I never thought I'd seriously do it. Since I was taking my mum to Japan anyway, I bought a ticket as soon as they went on sale and as it got closer I was like, 'what the fuck have I done?' But I got here and arrived at the venue around noon. There was no shade in the queue and I seriously thought I was coming down with heatstroke. Actually got up to leave at one point because I felt so faint but I dunked a whole bottle of water on my head and cooling towel (highly recommend the Sukeen ones) and started to feel better. I got lost on the way in because the place was huge but thanks to a Singaporean fan and some lovely Indonesian people I got onto the barrier where the crowd was split. The staff gave out plenty of water so by the time Rebellion Rose finished I felt much better. Rebellion Rose were really good. That was the loudest crowd I've ever been in for Bohemian Rhapsody and that carried on into American Dream. I was impressed! Haven't heard anyone screaming that song so loud before. The crowd gradually got a bit quieter, probably because of the heat. Several people had to be pulled out. I'd decided I wouldn't jump or go too crazy because of the potential heatstroke but I couldn't help it when Paper Lanterns started. Loved hearing that song again and Forever Now!!! Hands down one of the best Green Day songs, especially live, and I never thought I'd be fortunate enough to hear it again. There were quite a lot of phones and Billie told everyone to put them away during Longview. Of course he then had us all get them back out for the flashlights in Boulevard. The girl who got onstage for Know Your Enemy forgot the lyrics and Billie was so sweet about it. She sang the chorus to make up for it and she rocked! As a Muslim it made me so happy to see someone in hijab onstage 🥹 Billie behaved perfectly appropriately too, just giving her a fist bump. Unrelated to the gig itself but it was surreal to see a musholla at a Green Day show, with the sign in the Saviors font and everything😂 I ended up going as crazy as ever throughout the show but the heat exhaustion must have passed because I never felt ill again. Bobby Sox was the highlight for me. Billie asked 'do you want to be my girlfriend?' and 'do you want to be my boyfriend?' before starting the song and both times men and women screamed 'YEEEEES!!!' When Billie came out for Good Riddance, he joked, 'Jesus, how many people here can play Good Riddance? Well, I can play it too!' He asked if we wanted him to play it or someone from the crowd and everyone roared 'YOU!' He said he'd play it and 'I won't mess it up.' He did burp though. There were people from all over at the show - Philippines, Singapore, China, Saudi, Korea and of course me from England 😆 20 years ago (15 February 2005), Green Day played on VH1 Storytellers in Santa Monica, CA. solongfromthestars
18 February 2025 This year, Green Day played the National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the Saviors Tour. This was one of my favourite Saviors Tour shows The recap I wrote in the thread: Spoiler That... was a really special show. Not because of the setlist or whatever (although we did get One of My Lies, RevRad and a snippet of At the Library) but it was just one of those magical times. It was absolutely pissing it down - I'm returning to my hostel twice as heavy because my hair and clothes are so sodden - and that somehow made it even more surreal and magical. I got there at about 12:30 and I was pretty far out, in front of the screen, but I'm so glad I was there because I was surrounded by lovely Malaysian fans who were seeing Green Day for the first time and all that blathering Billie does about unity - I FELT it. I think we all did. Everyone around me was screaming the lyrics, jumping and waving, and whenever I looked behind me the rest of the crowd was going absolutely crazy. I felt like I was seeing Green Day for the first time again because of the vibes all around me. The bloke next to me was worried he wouldn't enjoy the show because he prefers Green Day's slow songs, but we had the same look of awe on our faces when we turned to each other after the show. I asked how it was and he replied 'it was AMAZING!' Agreed. Someone I met in Jakarta (not a Green Day fan, although I almost convinced her to come to the show 😂) asked if I actually remember all these shows and the answer is my expression as this show came to a close. I looked up as the rain was pouring and lightning was flashing as Billie sang Good Riddance, and there was just pure joy and wonder on my face. There isn't any deep story behind me deciding to come to KL. The flight from Jakarta was £30 and the city looked nice on photos so I went for it. I'd had so much bad luck and anxiety since I arrived that I regretted that decision - I was convinced the show was doomed - but wow. It was not. More photos: Spoiler 26 years ago (20 February 1999), Green Day played a show for friends at the Cinder Block Factory in Oakland, CA. 'Speaking of anniversaries, we played Cinder Block's 10 year anniversary party on February 20th at a warehouse in Oakland. (Congratulations, Jeff and Cinder.) Everyone got drunk, danced, and threw cups of beer. There was also a dunk tank (more like drunk tank), video games, and some bungy chord-whiplash machine. Huevos Rancheros and One Man Army played too, along with Jello Biafra doing a spoken word. It was a hoot. As for the future, we're not "Doing Demos". I'm writing songs and having band practice at Tre's house every now and then. We're not in a rush. Maybe Mike will move to Russia and become a cowboy. Tre just might join the circus this year. And as for me? I'm thinking about being a middle eastern belly dancer. Whatever happens, it should make for some more damn fine new songs. Who knows, maybe we'll show up on your doorstep and play in your living room...' – Billie Joe 27 years ago (20 February 1998), Green Day played PalaLido in Milan, Italy on the Nimrod Tour. 31 years ago (20 February 1994), Green Day played the Cactus Club in San Jose, CA on the Dookie Tour. 32 years ago (20 February 1993), Green Day played Berkeley Square. 2

I would've said at the time that my favourite show of the Asian leg was the KL one, but this is the one I'm still thinking about most. The recap I wrote in the thread: Spoiler 'That was a REALLY good show. Probably my favourite of the year so far after KL. I was number 250-something and started off second row. I've always been sceptical of people claiming they got pushed onto the barrier but it genuinely happened to me tonight 😂 I just happened to be in the perfect position to get shoved into a small gap when the first surge happened. I ended up in the left corner of the catwalk. Even though the gold circle was split up into small sections, the crowd was wild. Green Day hadn't given me bruised tits since 2017 but here we are. I'd missed that feeling. Felt like the whole arena was shaking as everyone jumped, waved and sang. I'm not a massive fan of Strange Days but it sounded incredible and I was so happy they played a Saviors song. Maybe I'm converted now 👀 I mean, everything sounded amazing. There wasn't a moment of the show I didn't enjoy. It was surreal to see Billie holding up the Japanese flag. If I had to choose a highlight... it's a hard choice, but maybe Bobby Sox. This was the kind of show that turned me back into my 12 year-old self watching Bullet in a Bible, but realising I'm actually there... in Japan, which I wanted to visit before I knew Green Day existed. At the end of the show Billie laid on the catwalk and posed for photos. 😂 Seemed like he really enjoyed this show too. A crew member gave me a pick which was very sweet.' And because I couldn't get over it, I came back and wrote more later 'I'm still not over it. The vibe all around me was amazing and I can still recall that feeling that the whole arena was shaking. Billie and Mike were SO close when they came out onto the catwalk. You know when you were however old you were when Bullet in a Bible came out, and you watched Billie kneeling on the catwalk and sighed wistfully, thinking you'd never be that close? That kid was there with me in Yokohama, screaming enough to make me more deaf than I already am. I was so stressed before I left, I'd had so much bad luck on the trip, and then I was beyond devastated that my mum couldn't make it. The universe was definitely looking out for me when I got shoved into that spot and Green Day put on such a good show.' Honestly, I didn't know who they were yet; i just heard the music, liked it, and stuck around to listen to it with my foot on the little stage. The flyers promoting the concert, as I always say when I tell this old story, advertised The Raggedy Anns featuring secret green guest.' – The Beno Journal Later that day, they played 924 Gilman Street and Berkeley Square. 'I saw Green Day with Tilt and some other local bands in Berkeley Saturday night and I must say Green Day do an excellent show. It's been a few years since I've seen them and they've really improved. It kinda cracks me up to see Billie Joe rebelling against his 'cute' looks by being all tattooed and having dreads. He still looks like he's 16. But I guess he used to look like he was 12. He turned 21 on Saturday. The show by the way, was sold out and a lot of people were turned away. Inside it was overcrowded, but the energy was good, and someone bought me a beer. I must say the highlights of the show were Green Day's covers of Eye Of The Tiger and Jessie's Girl.' – fan experience Someone saw them all three times that day. 33 years ago (5 March 1992), Green Day played Berkeley Square. -------------------------------------------------------- 6 March 2025 7 years ago (6 March 2018), The Coverups played the Ivy Room in Albany, CA. 31 years ago (6 March 1994), Green Day played Numbers in Houston, TX on the Dookie Tour. 33 years ago (6 March 1992), Green Day played The University Commons in Rohnert Park, CA. More photos on the GDA Tumblr 20 years ago (9 March 2005), Green Day played the Sydney SuperDome in Sydney, Australia on the American Idiot Tour. -------------------------------------------------------- 10 March 2025 On this day 8 years ago (10 March 2025), Green Day played the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, GA on the Revolution Radio Tour. 12 years ago (10 March 2013), Green Day played the Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on the 99 Revolutions Tour. 'About 40 minutes or so into Green Day's set, Billie Joe Armstrong begin what seemed to be an acoustic version of Boulevard Of Broken Dreams off what has become the band's seminal album, American Idiot. After the first verse, he paused before motioning to his band mates to come back onstage. 'Welcome back,' he said as they casually strolled on. Those comments could have easily referred to his return to the stage after battling his own personal demons after a much-publicized meltdown in Las Vegas last September sent the 41-year-old to rehab for several months. Back and refocused, the Berkeley-based rockers powered through two seamless hours of performance that lacked any of the controversy that plagued their previous show. Last night was all about the music and, to an extent, the singer's own redemption. Looking fit, trim and healthy, Armstrong was all smiles to the point where he couldn't contain them even if he tried. Outside of his good spirits, there also happened to be four other guys onstage who didn't seem bothered by the five-month layoff between. The band was in midtour form: crisp, relaxed and confident. Pomona was the site of the first of three small club dates on the band's march to Austin for South By Southwest. Usually small shows serve as warm-up dates for a group to find their groove, but last night was nothing of the sort. Know Your Enemy, the night's second song, set the tone for what was to come, when Armstrong pulled a young punk rocker from the crowd to finish the words to the song before encouraging the little guy to take a leap of faith into the crowd, which was met with huge cheers. When American Idiot propelled Green Day to heights they never could have imagined, some thought this would be the end of the punk-rock ethos they stood for. But this is a band that has rejected conventional wisdom over the years, doing things such as releasing three albums of new material in a four-month period, allowing for their signature record to become the inspiration for a successful Broadway musical, which is possibly the least punk-rock thing a band could do. Contrarily, the latter didn't deter the band's most rabid and fiercely dedicated group of supporters, then nothing will. Armstrong may have kept the between-song banter to a minimum, but that didn't hamper his enthusiasm. Screaming and prodding the crowd all night, the singer took the theatrics to another level when he pulled out a gigantic water gun reminiscent of those Supersoakers of the early '90s and a toilet-paper gun that you dreamed of shooting at your 10th-grade biology teacher's house. He would eventually outdo both of those weapons by snaring a T-shirt bazooka that you only see at sporting events, and yes, he did fire T-shirts into the crowd, probably to the chagrin of those who plunked down $30 to $35 to buy one in the lobby. Playing 2000 Light Years Away, a rarity from 1992's Kerplunk, Armstrong invited fans onstage. Playing the final bridge while riding atop one fan's shoulders, the singer victoriously basked in the moment, knowing how far he's come along with no longer carrying the burden of that embarrassing show that will serve as a footnote in the band's history.' — OC Weekly More photos: Spoiler 20 years ago (10 March 2005), Green Day played the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia on the American Idiot Tour. 31 years ago (10 March 1994), Green Day played the Plus 5 Lounge in Davie, FL, on the Dookie Tour. -------------------------------------------------------- 11 March 2025 On this day 12 years ago (11 March 2013), Green Day played the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ on the 99 Revolutions Tour. 'The last time I saw Green Day was in 1991, when my roommate asked me, "Do you want to go to Green Day and Transition with me?" I knew who Transition was, since her "boyfriend" was in it, but wondered if Green Day was like Earth Day and had something to do with recycling. They played for free to a group of about 100 in the Mary Ward Cantina at San Francisco State. I only remember One of My Lies from that first concert. They were awesome, excellent musicians with great songs, and they set the bar which no other bands who played at Mary Ward could meet. Again, not even close.' — Julie O. 2

'Eggplant and an ex-girlfriend of mine set up this surprise birthday party for me, and Green Day and Blatz played it. Eggplant has had many spectacular parties in his backyard. He had this weird hot-tub room, his dad and his stepmom. They played there, next to the hot tub. This really teeny room. It was raining like crazy. I remember the people in Blatz were getting electrocuted, so they didn't like that. That was a very memorable show for me. It was my twenty-first birthday. How many people can say their two favorite bands played their birthday party? Not many. I was stoked.' — Eric Yee 1
