How convenient that they started having coffee tastings after their Chicago stop. I thought you loved us, guys :(

I just think it’s so ironic. What would Billie’s teachers say now, the ones who were disgusted with him for never showing up to class and dropping out? Ofc they had bigger success than this as a band for decades but I find it particularly hilarious that the kid known as Two Dollar Bill who did no work, was stoned all the time, dropped out halfway through senior year and hung at his brother’s house who was the high school custodian would one day be given the key to the city 😂 No one could have predicted it and the school’s high achievers would say there’s no justice 🤣🤣

I was thinking exactly the same! None of their teachers were betting on them doing anything of note.

Even worse in Pittsburgh, they stopped into the downtown 7-11 without telling anybody and I was a few blocks away at the time and only found out later

Green Day receives key to the city in Bay Area hometown of Pinole

Green Day returns to town where punk rockers went to school, 7-Eleven behind the music

https://www.ktvu.com/video/1520457

My wife and I went to the event and the KTVU broadcast was incorrect. They stated that about 200 people were in the crowd, but we overheard a security guard saying that 530 VIP lanyards were handed out and no one new would be allowed in the event area when someone was trying to access it without a lanyard. Obviously not everyone could stay until Green Day arrived, but more than 200 people were there for their arrival and numerous people without lanyards were waiting in undesignated areas. Also, KTVU called it "Punky" Bunny Coffee.

We bought two small bags of the medium roast coffee from  7-11 after it was over and the crowd had dissipated. Right after I picked up a bag of coffee, I heard someone behind me say, "I can't believe people are buying this shit." I turned around and saw that it was one of the people who worked the merch event table. She looked at me, shook her head, and then laughed. This partially explains why the event was so disorganized. My wife worked as an event planner and would have been fired for organizing an event like this. They even kept the mayor waiting over 2 hours! One person fainted from the heat and after that the event staff decided to hand out water, but it wasn't enough for everyone in the crowd. The good part was interacting with the fans in the crowd, singing together before Green Day arrived, and being able to say that I saw them spray paint the wall.

lol yeah I was thinking of attending this. I live less than 15 minutes away. Having met Billie before, I was like damn this may be a shot to meet the whole band. But then I thought it’s going to be wild. The amount of fans in that tiny lot. It’s going to be jammed. And also feared that something of the sort may happen (the disorganization) So I decided not to lol. Guess I’m glad I didn’t haha. Besides, I already met the guy himself. And that was before a sound check, and it was literally just me and like two other people who shared the experience. Way more intimate. Less screaming. Less shoving. You know all that good stuff haha 😌 But I’m glad some people had fun. And the boys have been immortalized in their old stomping grounds.

@CristhyneSnot sure if this is the one you attended?

Yes, this is the one in Arlington! I remember when that last shot was taken and thinking "Yep, I'm not going to be in this shot" lol. I should be one or two people to the side of the guy in right most part of the picture.

BTW, some photographer took a picture of me and my sister while we were taking this selfie . I have kept an eye out for it, but haven't seen it shared anywhere. If anyone comes across it please let me know, I'd really appreciate!

What an asshole 😠 Did they work for the store or PBC? It’s just coffee for god sakes. You’re not being scammed into buying NFTs or gold sneakers.

She was representing PBC, but I think she was hired for just the event since events like this are often staffed by people who are professional event workers. Another PBC event worker was putting more coffee out when she said this and there was no way she didn't see me grab two bags of the 7-11 medium roast. My wife wanted to try this roast using her own milk and sugar because she didn't like what they had for free.

Ugh I hate it when people put down others for enjoying something. It's so unnecessary and rude.

So, I picked up extra PBC 7-11 cups for my friends, who didn't need them after all  But I have two extra if anyone is interested! I can mail them; I would just ask you cover shipping costs.

So far, the band has promoted their coffee way more than any of their new singles 😆

Because the coffee actually makes money 😉

Hit the jackpot finally at my little local Shop and Save. Haven’t seen any there until now but today there was a big cardboard endcap full with every variety of cups at the front of the store. Got a box of Father of All since I haven’t seen that anywhere else and I liked it when I had it before as OC

It would have been cool if like right after, they headed down to the school and performed a mini free concert lol. Again though, that would have been disastrous in terms crowd control and crowd size.. 🤣
