The 99th revolution
Here's my potential lead to an unknown song in Berkeley Square, one of the titles spawned was Future Old Boy, based on what others made out of Billie's introduction to this obscurity. I made this one out as well, but the first U has a weird accent. Am I hearing things or was this title that existed for a long period the true lead for some time already? Miko
What unknown song? I wish threads like this would include some context to what's being talked about.
The 99th revolution
There was an unknown song at the Berkeley Square KALX show (1989) which was nicknamed Jennifer and Future Old Boy.
Little Boy Named Booze
Absolutely don't know what you're talking about and what is your lead. Video? Context? Please
The 99th revolution
This is what I am talking about, when I say "lead" I refer to what I made out from Billie's introduction of the song. In the beginning you can hear him say the song title, which appears to be "Future Old Boy". This speculation has existed for a while now, but the song was still considered unknown. Miko
It doesn't sound ''future'' at all. It sounds more like ''Butcher''.
The 99th revolution
Good point, I was sort of skeptical about the word future because Billie didn't say the actual pronounciation but more of a 'foo-tur', so you might be right with the name being "Butchered Old Boy" or something. Saviour
Sounds like a cover of something. They covered all sorts of random stuff around this time from bands around Gilman and Lookout Records. I remember the bootleg of C Yo Yus in the early days of file sharing which people thought might be an unrecorded track.
The 99th revolution
For some reason the guitar reminds me of the opening to Nirvana's smash hit Smells Like Teen Spirit in the same way as Christie Road's guitar before "Oh mother stay out of my way / of that place we go".
