TheMostExpressivePrice
You probably have heard and likely have said yourselves which GD albums do you prefer when it comes to listening the entire record from back to forth, from its first to its final song. But have you actually expiremented with the opposite? Have you tried to listen to a GD album, but instead of the original order, you heard it on the opposite direction (example: on "Nimrod" start with "Prosthetic Head" and finish with "Nice Guys Finish Last"; on "Revolution Radio" start with "Ordinary World" and end your listen with "Somewhere Now"). Yes, it will not sound very good, but this could be a good test on how high each album's experience quality is. i tried a few days ago and i have to say with reversed order the two best Green Day albums are "Warning:" and "American Idiot" ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams" to "Holiday" transition is used to being referred as a common joke but it is still nice in an unexpected manner), while "Insomniac", "Uno!" and "Tré!" are much worse when played backwards. What are your thoughts about that procedure? (P.S. i will delete the topic in case it does not fulfil the GDC standards, unless someone from the administration team does so beforehand.)
greendepent
I don't use to do that except with Tre. Not exactly in a inverse manner but for a long time I was always started with X-kid then I left it to end on 8th Avenue serenade
Flashback
I used to skip Somewhere Now when listening to RevRad and Song of the Century when listening to 21CB. But luckily I realized early enough that this was a huge mistake 😅 1
Miko
To start this post with answer to question, the answer is no and reason is that Green Day (usually) knows how to place closers and openers to records. Tre! is probably the only record where you could argue it being a good choice since both opener and closer are ballads after all. On Dos! it's just hilarious if you start off with Amy and end with Fuck Time/See You Tonight combo.. Fuck Time has never sounded more wrong before. Since that answer is boring, I decided to think more about track ordering. What do you think about track ordering on Green Day albums? That question generated more text, so here you go. I think in general Green Day album track ordering is really good, although you can see from Cuatro! and the fact that Stray Heart and Drama Queen were swapped last second that they struggled to know what song goes to what album. Kill the DJ should've been in Dos! and Stop When the Red Lights Flash would've fit better in Uno! instead, but thankfully either way works so it's not a big deal. Saviors track order is weird and Dilemma is in rough spot. For me it feels weird to first sing ''bada bing bada boom'' and then just drop the act and yell how ''I was sober and now I'm drunk again''. Maybe you could put Dilemma right before Goodnight Adeline or just move One Eyed Bastard somewhere else. I need more album playthroughs to fully figure it out. If I was forced to listen Revolution Radio again, I'd definitely order it so Forever Now is the closer. Ordinary World never had the emotional effect that album closer should have, so I'd either completely remove that song from the record or place it somewhere else. For FOAM I've tried many different orders. Starting the album with Stab You in the Heart and Sugar Youth is so much better than with first two singles. Since songs are whatever the fuck they are, you can only do so much but general logic is to have 2 bangers then slower song. Overall track ordering would be something like this. 1. Stab You in the Heart 2. Sugar Youth 3. Oh Yeah! 4. Father of All... 5. Fire, Ready, Aim 6. I Was a Teenage Teenager 7. Meet Me on the Roof 8. Take the Money and Crawl 9. Junkies on a High 10. Graffitia Other album track orders are really good and I see no point to experiment with different ordering for American Idiot, 21st Century Breakdown or Dookie. They're my definition of perfect track orders.

And why are you skipping a 40 seconds intro 😅
Gonzalo17
I always do some changes in the order of the tracks... In rev radio i put somewhere now before forever now (i think it's the same song) and live bang Bang as opener. Ordinary world IS deleted from my playlist. It doesn't fit in the album for me On dookie i added Christie Road outtake just after welcome to paradise and j.a.r. between basket case and she. I also put having a blast just before basket case. Is great in this way.

That Dude
American Idiot is a front to back listen. Right now, Saviors is a front to back listen. I've never done a backwards listen, but I will definitely see which album would benefit from it. Warning might be less good backward. Rev Rad could be interesting. I'll dig deeper into this idea. the album Tre could be good backward, while the rest of the discography is better how they are.
龑美優
I personally listen out from the middle to both the front and back at the same time. That way I end at both the beginning and the end next to each other. This is the ideal way to listen to all music.
Doggins
For FOAMF I just skip straight to 10. Graffitia
