Popular Post stories and songs
@disappearing_boy_39 Not really. I don’t think they’ll be bored because they pretty frequently play the same set night-to-night nowadays and never lose their enthusiasm. I have gotten the sense that creating setlists is a bit stressful for them because there are so many potential options and it’s hard to narrow it down, so I think having this set structure for the majority of the show might be helpful for them, planning-wise — they now only need to pick a few additional songs to complete the setlist. As for burnout — They played what, 90 minutes for Hella Mega? An extra half hour doesn’t seem too taxing to me, particularly if they’re in a good place health-wise, which they seem to be. Of course I worry about that because I am an anxious bean, but it’s really not a crazy long tour (1 month in Europe, 1 month off, then 2 months in US). I’m sure they know how to prep and pace themselves.

I do worry about straining Billie Joe's voice and Tre Cool's arms, haha. We shall see! it's gonna be a tight squeeze. As I laid out in my predicted set times, I imagine: Most concerts will start at around 5:30 and need to end by 11/11:30 for noise ordinances. Breaking down and setting up each band typically is 20 – 30 min (totaling 1.5 hrs). The Linda Lindas will probably get 20 – 30 min. I'd love it if Rancid got a full hour, but I think 45 min may be more realistic. It's very unlikely that the Pumpkins will play for less than an hour. They have their own VIP packages for this tour and typically play long sets. That leaves around 1hr 45 min – 2 hrs for Green Day. Let's not forget that they do enjoy speaking between and jamming on certain songs — I'm looking at You Knowledge, Hitchin' A Ride, King For a Day, and Minority! Maybe this means that those songs will finally be dropped🤞. Since AI, I 've seen them live 10 times. I think those songs were played almost at each show I went to, haha. Tomcat20
So, playing AI + Dookie in it’s entirety alone takes around 90 min of set time. How do they intend to pull this off? Most Hella Mega sets were only around 100 minutes long.

That Dude
They're going to play Dookie and Idiot and then their biggest hits from other albums. It would be cool if maybe there was one song that got rotated out everynight that could be anything, but probably not. Could they possibly do Idiot first and then Dookie? I prefer Idiot, but I know Dookie's the bigger album. The other songs will be their biggest hits from nimrod, breakdown and insomniac most likely. yxngjames
what if they play 2 sets instead of just a long one at the end? for example they could play american idiot then let another band play and then come back and do dookie and other songs.

They're not gonna cut the album to play a song from Saviors and then comeback to Dookie. 57 songs lol. I think a lot of fans will be disappointed. Your expectations are too high. The 99th revolution
Exactly. And last ride in? fashion victim? dont leave me? android? are you on the meth from the jaded in chicago soundcheck? 1 hour ago, Tomcat20 said: Which means they must be doing sets around 2 hours again. 90 minutes approx. for the 2 albums front to back and 35-45 minutes for the other songs, deep cuts and saviors inbetweens. Ils ne vont pas couper l'album pour jouer une chanson de Saviors et revenir ensuite sur Dookie. 57 chansons mdr. Je pense que beaucoup de fans seront déçus. Vos attentes sont trop élevées. The absolutely realistic at the start of the post was a reference to this setlist being ironically impossible. My actual prediction was posted at the start of this discussion. This was mostly an comedic one.
blueshadows
Really hope Dookie and AI will be played in order. I think that would be the best way to enjoy and honor those two iconic albums.

Hermione
All I know is they damn well better play All By Myself if they're playing Dookie in "full" 1
The 99th revolution
They did it at mf Fremont
Red Lights Flash
They might win some time by not playing all songs entirely. I could see them bringing out the acoustic guitar to play just one verse and chorus of a few songs, the way Billie used to do at the end of the 21stCB tour sets. I also remember that during the trilogy tour, they sometimes played a short version of WMUWSE before blasting into Murder City, they could easily do that before Letterbomb too.
jengd
Agreed, I think they may well kind of medley a couple of songs on each album.

But I was lucky enough to see Tre open a show with it another time so I can't complain. I do hope they play the albums start to finish. They already have so many Dookie and AI songs on the setlist anyway and have already regularly played over half those albums at shows for many years so I feel like to make it a really special thing they need to do that.
The 99th revolution
Hell yeah! We need Emenius Sleepus, Sassafras Roots, In the End. Those are hells of deepcuts that definitely deserved more traction outside of full Dookie shows! Wait, why am I saying that? They'll literally be in mf full Dookie shows! 😄

Hermione
2 hours ago, Miko said: This sounds like Shepherd's Bush gig in 2012, right? Yeah! Found out months afterwards the reason for the delay/Tre coming out alone first was they wanted Billie to cancel the show and go to rehab (this was like a month before that happened). So we were lucky the show even happened. But being oblivious to that it was a very cool way to start and it was an awesome (although extremely hot and crazy) show. 1
