Track lengths for the new songs from Qobuz: https://www.qobuz.com/us-en/album/saviors-green-day/pcbh2ohjt9wcb

Smash It Like Belushi - 2:48

Stay Young - 4:10

Fuck Off - 2:03

Ballyhoo - unknown

Suzie Chapstick (Acoustic) - 3:01

Father to a Son (Acoustic) - 3:53

Underdog - 2:14

So mostly fast-paced songs I’m guessing with Stay Young being longer and maybe slower-paced.

Ballyhoo is 100% an instrumental, mark my words if its released as a single in the following weeks or when the De Luxe comes out

I figured it would be a Strange Days Are Here to Stay demo or early version.   We haven't had an instrumental in a great while so that's interesting.   Anyway, I've got to go find my guitar and play the new song.   the chords are already up:

Ballyhoo... did Green Day ever said this word somewhere in a song?

unless this is another Dropout i doubt Ballyhoo is actually SDAHTS
Stay Young might have a chance of being the big bombshell song/the song that references other GD songs though

I'm glad the acoustic versions of two nice songs on Saviors which could be released as singles in the first place are included.  5 new songs? It sounds like a mini album and a lovely and fun start to summer!

Add the the three pandemic era singles (Here comes the shock, Holy Toledo, Pollyanna) with the 5 new saviors track and you get a green day album

This new songs are from saviors (cavallo) or FOAM (butch) sessions?

Apple Music lists Cavallo as producer, which is as good of proof as I’d need because it certainly sounds like him

Stay Young could be Too Young from the Ciggies/AI sessions. Just tweaked and repurposed. 🙂

EDIT: Nevermind. Too Young was clocked at 2:32 and Stay Young is about 2 minutes longer.

I am not a friend of deluxe editions and for years I was happy that Green Day didn't jump on that train. To me, an album tells a story from start to finish. And with deluxe editions, they (mostly) just add a mediocre epilogue to a finished story. Rant over. But glad we get some more Green Day music :)

These songs were very recently recorded for the deluxe and are not leftovers tracks from the Saviors sessions.

Could one be the Damn Juveline thing? Loved that snippet

Could that be a good sign that GD continues working with Rob Cavallo?  On Apple Music, Rob is listed as producer for the new songs

I'm kind of impressed we're getting five whole new songs with this Deluxe Edition. I imagine the gang is just super excited about this era.

Stay Young could take a part from Too Young (or maybe even Stay from the Sweet Children Demo) and we would never know

It’s true. About six months ago.

Matt, I’m not doubting your credibility, but what’s the source here? Instragram pics, ascap filings, white smoke coming out the chimney at the studio?

This was expected???

me on march 31st 😄

"i guess they will take a break after their shows this year, they have been touring extensively since ~2021, during their break i could see them releasing a new live album (and maybe some demo/b-side songs from past lp's?)"

i expected "new" material later this year or early 2026, but getting the deluxe now is kinda expected but still surprising :)

strange they put "underdog" right after the two acoustic versions of already excisting songs, maybe "underdog" is some sort of slow-paced/acoustic-like song too ?

An in-person discussion with someone who would absolutely know and be involved with the band's studio recording schedule.

I wonder whether they had a long discussion about whether to release these songs as a standalone new EP given that they’re not Saviors outtakes, or whether to attach them to a deluxe edition so close to Saviors release. Usually those things come much later and people are ready to buy a new version of the album again.  But we all just bought it and it’s a tough decision to buy it again, but a new EP under new title and art I would definitely have bought if there was a CD version.

Really? I’m used to seeing deluxes within the year of original release. Maybe I’m just misremembering.
