Everything from the songs, to the artwork, to how they promoted the album (the few interviews I have seen at least) sounds to me like they wanted that album to be different from their usual, and to be fun: to be short, fast paced, and most of all not to be taken too seriously. That's why for me it makes perfect sense that they saved such a political song as TADIKM for Saviors. Saviors is fresh and catchy, the singles have all been modern-sounding and clear-wormy. In general, people listen to singles now. Mashed up playlists in Spotify and so on. On the other hand you have their tour, which was their most successful most attended tour ever, as per some news article someone shared a few weeks ago. Or American Idiot anniversary boxset debuting quite high in the charts... Probably because again people just don't buy albums anymore. And yes, I agree with @DookieLukie's point too, that Rock just isn't popular anymore. Keep in mind that before the pandemic happened, Billie hinted that they might put out another album before the Hella Mega Tour!!! Yet the Saviors Wikipedia page says that the sessions started in 2021 and says nothing about pulling songs from the FOAM sessions. Don't lose heart GD we love you, always. ❤️ When you compare Saviors figures to RevRad, it does look bad but remember that RevRad has had 8 more years to accumulate sales & streams and was released in an era where album sales weren't completely dead compared to 2024, which let it get 95k sales in its first week and a good bit more in the following weeks/months. Still Breathing and Bang Bang have been moderately successful on spotify. They're far from their most successful singles but are at 116 million and 90 million spotify streams respectively, definitely their most successful post-21CB tracks.
