Lenny
1 hour ago, ekim said: Generation Z as in zero taste in music movies TV shows etc... Lol I had a good chuckle at that. I mean the whole generation debate is a complicated one. Boomers are just holding wealth at this point and are no longer productive in the workforce. Still a huge market for any business to target though. Gen Z is suffering from following the steps of Millennials. Millennials lived in a world both with and without internet so Gen Z was disadvantaged not having the experience of disconnecting. Xers finally hold power positions now after years of boomers hogging them but for every X’er in this spot there is a Millennial close by bringing in new life to the processes. I don’t blame generational shifts for music issues anymore. I blame the major labels that use their resources to push shit. I blame IHeartRadio for broadcasting shit. In 2012 Billie Joe was not wrong, it was just unfortunate he had a substance abuse issue in conjunction with calling it out.
Popular Post Flashback
Finally today I got my CD and vinyl. If I knew that I would have to pay 16€ taxes just because the GERMAN Warner Store delivers from Great Britain, I ordered both on Amazon 😅

That Dude
I have my laptop playing Saviors on a loop while I'm working. Also, I would be interested in knowing how they get paid from album sells. The amount and is a direct deposit or what? Have Billie, Mike and Tre gotten ANY money from album sells yet or is there a delay? 1

Saviour
After spending some time with it, I have delivered my judgement. S tier: Dilemma, TADIKM, Strange Days, Living in the 20s A tier: Suzie Chapstick, Fancy Sauce, LMNB, Goodnight Adeline B tier: 1981, Coma City, Bobby Sox, Corvette Summer C tier: OEB, Father To A Son, Saviors No songs in "F tier" (also known as Fuck this noise, or FOAMF tier) although if I'm in Japan I'm sticking Fever on this tier. It's crap.
MillenniumFan
I think it shows the strength of a great album that the fan community cannot at all decide what the best songs are. There’s some songs like Dilemma or Strange Days Are Here To Stay that most people tend to like a lot and others like Corvette Summer, OEB or Saviors that people tend to like less. But I’ve seen songs like 1981, Suzie Chapstick, Fancy Sauce, Bobby Sox, Coma City, TADIKM, Father to a Son or Look Ma No Brains ranked both very high and a lot lower, depending on who was reviewing. Always with the general verdict for the album being positive. Very interesting. And even Corvette Summer a lot of people love as much as dislike. I played the record to my dad the other day and his least favourites were Suzie Chapstick and OEB, but he greatly enjoyed the rest, especially Dilemma and Bobby Sox. So I think it’s fair to say that this is a very consistent album. It doesn’t have that many massive standout 10/10 songs, perhaps, at least not ones that most in the fanbase can agree on it would seem, apart from Dilemma or Strange Days Are Here To Stay perhaps. But there aren’t any terrible songs and very few mid songs, demonstrated by how highly they are rated by some. So that makes this a very consistent, solid record. And it’s been a very long while since they’ve made one of those, so this is a great time to be a GD fan.

Popular Post Karl Karlson
One local radio station, FM4, just played OEB and the DJ played some snippets of Basket Case, WICA, BOBD and some unknown song (which I guess was played by accident) and she said that "the new album" (no title mentioned) will be released in 3 weeks and she's giving us "the first single" for free (like a present). I don't know what she was smoking but this is a huge radio station that usually focuses on indie music and stuff...I immediately wrote them a PM. But no wonder no single nor the album charted in Austria yet haha. The next chart statistics will be available tomorrow. At least there's no Schlager as #1...looking at you, Germany Edit: I have to correct myself. She said the next album could be as legendary as Dookie, American Idiot and Saviors...the whole clip is so inaccurate from start to end it's getting better the more I think about it 2 1

Still, no reason to complain, that doesn't make it any less good, quite the opposite really.

Zebahar
I wish the band pushed a better single than OED and Bobby Sox. I think they could have put out a song like Coma City, 1981, maybe even Strange Days, and it could have generated some additional buzz, and definitely would be more radio friendly.

Nope, not familiar enough with their stuff to spot any. Andy Warhol’s a hometown boy from here in Pittsburgh. I even made a visit to his grave recently
