There's absolutely nothing this band could possibly do which would make him give them anything higher than maybe a 5/10 I'm not sure why we keep mentioning this guy. He clearly doesn't car for Green Day, so naturally he's gonna rate their work poorly. His opinions and reviews shouldn't matter to us. And if his audience shares his views, they're not relevant to us either. They aren't the target audience for the band, so there's little point in discussing their opinions. He's free to dislike Saviors and anything else Green Day does, I just don't see why his name keeps coming up in this forum. Not a jab at you or anyone else, just wondering that's all. 9

Completely agree with you. I think we have to start to ignore this dude. He doesnt like Green Day and thats fine, but he keeps reviewing stuff like in such a cynical way just to throw shit on them. I dont care at all about what people may think of this record, fantano and hid fanbase even less. Im so grateful for this record to exist, its all i care, i'm very much satisfied with this.

That was a thing people loved to point out back in 2009 when it came out, ha. Thanks for listening! And yes, I’ve been seriously lucky over the years. Thanks Dude! We should get you on the podcast one of these days! Yeah our goal is 1,039 smoothed out hours of podcasting lol Once I upgrade my laptop and microphones I'll certainly be up for some collaborations. That would be awesome if it ends up being exactly 1,039 hours, 😄 I think if I listen at 1.7 speed I might be able to finish this super long one today. You guys were discussing Suzie Chapstick when I had to start this stupid day job thing that gets in the way of nerding out over Green Day. I usually don't agree with other Green Day fans like you guys. Always so good to hear love for FOAM and Trilogy.

If everyone could just "tran-sition" from Fantano to Dude, all would be right with the world. I'm handing out 5/5 to everything they do....which reminds me, Warner still hasn't replied to my email. I think Lenny may have clogged their email with a manifesto or something. 😄

Fantano's name keeps coming up because he is one of the most famous music critics on YouTube. I often respect his opinions shared in his Weezer reviews — he's actually a fan of their good stuff, such as the first two albums, OK Human, and the White Album. But, I always feel that he's unfair in his critical analysis of new Green Day music. I think Saviors! is quite strong, and I'm stoked for this new era. The guys seemed pumped and are putting a lot of effort into this.

Montclare
Looking at the Billboard 200 for this past week, this was how many units was needed to get each spot (yes, it does depend on what's released each week, etc, this is just an idea) 1-133,000 2- 69,000 3- 61,000 4- 52,000 5- 50,000 6- 45,000 7- 44,000 8- 43,000 9- 41,000 10- 38,000

KGLWW
Green Day is somewhat in an unusual place. Stylistically and thematically I’m not sure this album is going to appeal to many out there. The people it may normally appeal to just don’t really bother to listen new stuff from them anymore cause they stopped following the band a long time ago. And the common person I think would say is Green Day still around? Haven’t heard much from them since 2009. And I think promotion has something to do with that, plus the fallout between them and iheart radio. If Green day isn’t played on mainstream radio, not the local rock/alternative stations, who is really listening anymore except for the most devoted fans?

Well they just completed one of the biggest stadium tours of that year and millions of people came out to see them so I’d say they’re still on plenty of people’s radars

At least with Father of All that kinda attracted a newer audience that really didn’t like them before. Plus the first single from the new album was political but not on the same level as American Idiot or even some singles from 21CB, so again who is the audience for that single really? Not old old fans or AI/21CB fans. I think Bobby Sox or Dilemma may have been a better first single because that appeals a little more to the Father of all crowd Not that that really is a huge demographic but at least Father of All has a couple songs with 25 million plus listens on Spotify

Spotify numbers just give an indication of what streaming numbers might account for for first week units. 3 minutes ago, Lauren said: Any reason you don’t include the first four singles in this? so happy to see Bobby Sox doing well!
