Is it just me who sees the similarity to 21st Century Breakdown? 😂

The American Dream is Killing is Me = 21st Century Breakdown
Look Ma, No Brains = Know Your Enemy
Bobby Sox = Viva La Glora
Before The Lobotomy = Goodnight Adeline
Coma City = Static Age
Living in the 20s = Horseshoes & Grenades
Father to a Son = Restless Heat Syndrome
Saviors = See the Light

Yes, I noticed some of these similarities. Others, I'm not so sure about.

Father to a Son is more like WMUWSE. Idk if I see BTL in Goodnight Adeline or VLG in Bobby Sox

TADIKM is definitely 21CB inspired. Saviors and See the Light for sure have similarities, though the concept of Saviors is also similar to the Heroes & Cons concept from 21CB. Light is used as a metaphor for hope both in Saviors and See the Light. LIT20s is basically just H&H musically with lyrics inspired by Bang Bang. And Coma City definitely shares similarities with Static Age

The political/social commentary on Saviors is closer to 21CB than I would've expected. Despite TADIKM being 21CB inspired, I was expecting the songs to be more generic political anthems like on RevRad but the theme of the American Dream is shared between the two albums

Saviors definitely shares similarities with a lot of Green Day projects and even side projects but I think it's more of a combination between 21CB and a well produced trilogy album

He's not a Republican at all wtf? He's openly leftist. You can dislike him all you want but this is just misinformation.

And he definately isn't a Green Day fan. He kinda likes Dookie but nothing else really. Hates American Idiot and dislikes 21stcb even more.

I like him a lot that doesn't mean I have to agree with all his reviews.

It’s not misinformation it was a joke. There’s not really much to like about Fantano, his music knowledge is limited tbh. He’s one of those guys that says “I’m a music guy oh but I don’t play any instruments I just consume large amounts as a listener”. Like I’m sure he is passionate about music and has learned some stuff through osmosis but it doesn’t tickle my fancy.

He’s simply a gateway drug to finding large volumes of new releases. I wouldn’t take his word on the rating or review though. I’d have to go listen to the albums myself to draw an accurate conclusion.

Pretty sure fantano is not a republican but ok...

I’m poking fun at him cause he’s a fucking loser. I’m not actually being serious.

he’s also a fan of Fiona Apple

Are they real signatures or prints? Is there any kind of authentication for the signatures?

As far as I can tell, they’re real signatures.  Mine looks unique from another signed cd I saw, so they’re not all exactly the same.  I can also tell it looks like an actual marker was used based on the shine the signatures give.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I will have to disagree with those comments (here and elsewhere) saying this is their best album since AI. It’s not.  American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are still their best albums  especially as whole cohesive works, and including the album artworks. Don’t get me wrong, I like the majority of songs, but just can’t get into Corvette Summer, Bobby Sox, Father to a son (it may be a grower), and Fancy Sauce (sounds like a Teletubby song to me). Favourites are Look Ma, Dilemma, Coma City, 1981, Saviors, Strange Days, Suzie Chapstick, Goodnight Adeline.  I would have to put it on a par with FOAM, as I only disliked 2 songs on that album.  This one does have more tracks though, but unfortunately no Graffitia  (their best song since AI & 21CB, along with Back in the USA).  And the album artwork is terrible (not as bad as FOAM though), remember when everyone complained about Rev Rad - it looks fantastic compared to this one.

Much as I would like to see them play American Idiot in full, I’m not forking out over £80 to stand in a “field” in sunny Glasgow, especially since last time they booked Bellahouston Park It got cancelled due to the weather. 🙃

INSANITY GUYS!   The album is longer than we thought before.   It used to say it was 45:55 and now it's 46:and 2 seconds.    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Oh, and we need to work on getting their streaming numbers up to unnatural numbers.  Let's begin.

Amazing!! ❤️ somehow they have to manage to get one of the songs (maybe the hook of Bobby Sox) as a hit on TikTok, that would be a real boost too

Do we know if Blink 182's album is eligable for the Grammys 2024 or 2025? Maybe we are lucky and Green Day doesn't have to compete with Blink in 2025. Would increase the chances for a well deserved 6th Grammy for Green Day 🥰

This record will have to pass the test of time, but I believe 21CB is a record that is judged with a strong emotional bias by that part of the fan base that got attached to the band around that time or with AI. I am part of that group and I do have a strong emotional bias towards that record. It has undoubtedly some of the strongest songs in their catalogue, but also several lows. Of course only my opinion,  and it is a very good record, but it doesn’t simply live on the shadow of AI, is derivative of it not always in a good way, and IMHO is their record that aged worse because of it. The production and composition of that record worked in 2009, it doesn’t have the same effect today. Contrary to AI and Dookie.
Again, just my opinion, but I think Saviors has the potential to pass the test of time in a better way then 21CB. We will see, but it is the first time I can dare to say a new GD record can do that.

I think 21CB is one of their best made records. However, I always felt it lacked that Green Day catchiness and tongue-in-cheek attitudes at times. And it’s kind of bloated. A great record to listen all the way through as a single piece of art, but I don’t really go back to individual songs too much.

I think we're going to continue to see comments dismissing 21CB from people who love this album. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, I think it's better than all the album after 21CB, and if people prefer it to 21CB and think it's their best since AI, good for them. But people/critics were saying the same thing about RevRad, how that's the best album since AI, and I'm sure a lot of the people who were saying that don't even listen to RevRad anymore

I think Saviors easily beats FOAM. While I liked Graffitia and think Stab You in the Heart is genuinely really underrated, Saviors has at least 5 songs that I'd favour over anything on FOAM and there isn't any song on Saviors that I dislike whereas FOAM has a few songs I dislike. The worst songs are One Eyed Bastard and Suzie Chapstick for me but these tracks are still ok and are a small part of the full album.

I didn't know what to think about the album art when I first saw it but idk, it's grown on me. It's better than FOAMF, it's better than RevRad's. I might even put it ahead of the trilogy covers though I don't mind those ones either. I think it fits well enough with the songs. It's far from their best cover but it's ok

Green Day and blink will be competing the same year. And I think blink will have the advantage here. The return of Tom, the success that album has had is really good for a rock album in 2023, fans seem to love it, critically it seemed to have done fairly well with a 71 on Metacritic. The fact that it released in October 2023 may result in people getting somewhat tired of it or it getting somewhat forgotten by the time the 2025 grammys come around which is the grammys both albums are eligible for.

The cover is the only thing I don't really like from Saviors. I love every songs except maybe Corvette Summer and I LOOOOVE the font. But idk about the cover... it's meh for me.

But I'm in love with the RevRad cover so maybe I'm not a source.
