Okay, I want to predict what's coming next as far singles:  me, Coma City, Livin in the 20s, Saviors, 1981, Fever, Fancy Sauce, Suzie Chapstick, Strange Days are here to stay and then finally Goodnight Adeline.

and then right before album 15 news starts to churn up a little, Father to a Son.

Oh please let them release Fever as a single

How about some Saviors B-sides, like this one, whatever this song is

Monthly Spotify update.  Looks like Dilemma got a nice bump from the beginning of the American tour.  And Good Night Adeline and Suzie Chapstick are still holding their own in comparison to the other songs post track 5.

And side note- Basketcase has been averaging over 900,000 listens a day, whereas it's normally around 500-600,000.  And Good Riddance has had a nice bump from Deadpool, and is getting around 800,000 a day compared to its usual 300-400,000.

Surprised Corvette Summer hasn't seen more of an increase

That would be epic.   Acoustic versions of 7 Saviors songs plus song other stuff:

1. Bobby Sox

2. Dilemma

3. Goodnight Adeline

4. Suzie Chapstick

5. Strange Days Are Here To Stay

6. Father to a Son

7. Fancy Sauce

8.  I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) (Meatloaf)

9. I Want It All (Queen)

10.  Angels Wings (Social Distortion)

11.  Real Good Looking Boy (The Who)

12.  No One Knows

13.  Restless Heart Syndrome (with Good Riddance Outro)

I'm surprised they haven't released it here in the states yet.

I recently listened to Saviors from top to bottom and I still love it six months later. Some songs I've cooled on like Father to a Son, but overall the album is still fantastic and is their strongest work in a while. Glad that the album still resonates months after its release.

Father to a son is missing a bridge perhaps a real solo as well

One thing I think should be said about the Saviors pitchfork review is that they said maybe Green Day isn’t as liberal as thought, but then again they also said they were too liberal in the 21CB review. Kinda seems like Green Day is smarter and better at telling the future than they’re given credit for. But not to say they are really too liberal or conservative much at all by any means.

Yup, sounds like Pitchfork  I'm shocked they even bothered with Green Day. I thought they were too mainstream for them.

Going to go ahead and call it.   Album 15 is probably coming in April of 2027.

The title will be BUTT...IT...ROCKS!  The first album will be kind of like Dookie, the 2nd an amalgamation of Green Day and all their side projects - and then finally, American Idiot Part ()  The number will be scratched out like whatshernames name.

I think Saviors is still pretty good, but it would’ve been nice if they could’ve combined it with some trilogy songs. Could’ve gone from like 21 CB/Rev Rad album combo to Saviors mixed with the trilogy and some other songs scattered in from side projects and father of all. Sorry if this is spam-like. But here is how I’d combine the albums-

Saviors/Trilogy mix-

The American Dream is Killing Me

Look Ma, no Brains

State of Shock

Bobby Sox

Dilemma

One Eyed Bastard

Goodnight Adeline

Fell for You

Stray Heart

Coma City

Kill your Friends

Corvette Summer

Suzie Chapstick

Strange Days are Here to Stay

Fever Blister

Devil’s Kind

Living in the 20’s

Graffitia

Amy

And 21CB would just have Still Breathing, Bang Bang, Revolution Radio, Ordinary World thrown in.

They played Suzie Chapstick at the last show....six current era songs at a Green Day show, that is mindblowing!  Hopefully with American Idiot and Dookie properly celebrated Green Day will put the nostalgia away for the next several eras and focus on new material.    If the public's perception of their modern stuff continues to be positive, they'll do it - and their setlist will only benefit from it.    I know that my frustration with them not covering every era live will grow, as they go into having 15+ albums, but there's a right way to more forward.    Green Day won't ever stop playing the Dookie and Idiot hits.     The Saviors Tour is a good model for what could come later.    Play the big Dookie and Idiot songs, play some other big hits, and then play 6-7 brand new song songs.    5 Dookies, 5 Idiots, 10 big hits from across the decades, 7 new songs.    A very satisfying 27 set that's not as brutal on the old young guys.

If they stay away from these combined shows, then I think this is definitely plausible. However, I have a hunch that this formula will stick around for the next tour because, frankly, it works. After 21CB, they stopped touring at larger stadiums, and having these shared shows allows them to sell out larger venues more easily. With that happening, I assume they will probably go back to the 20-song sets they did during Hella Mega

Is the era officially over?

We got Here Come the Shock about a year after Father of All and then a string of assorted stand alone singles.  Just wondering if we'll get that again in 2025 to hold us over until a 2028 album is dropped.   It's possible that was just due to Covid and the band wanted to be extra generous.  But as the BS year of 2024 comes to an end, It's not entirely crazy to think we're ALMOST at the build up of GD15.    We'll be talking about it before you know it.    2025 is going to be awesome!
