I mean it can still be a foam outtake. Lots of song on Saviors have been wrote from a long time ago too. Look at OEB it's from 2020, right after FOAM.

Told ya. So many ‘know it all’s’ on here we’re saying ‘it’s a foam out take’ just like OEB was a ‘foam out take’. They never were.

Foam was recorded in March 2019 in the LA area.

These track clips were leaked intentionally to help create a bit of talk and hype. Honestly, there’s probably like 2 people on this forum who actually have inside info, look back on the people who posted adamantly that the clips and OEB were foam outtakes & you’ll know in future that they don’t actually know anything.

So glad you're one of the ITKs and willing to set us all straight with your knowledge. Without people like you this forum would just be full of conjecture and misinformation.

Something can be a FOAMF outtake and still get released later. Isn't the fact that it's not on the actual album and instead just a bonus track more proof that it is just sort of an outtake that was thrown on there?

Something can be an outtake from one album and re-recorded for a later album. Happens all the time.

When it'll be released?

I assume when the album releases? It says January 19th on the Amazon link that was posted so I don't think the Japanese album release will be different from the rest of the world

It's hilarious when people come through with legit knowledge/information and some people still INSIST it's not true

I wish Green Day would do an interview to debunk all these stupid theories and rumors that spread on these forums…

Yes but where would it end?  Practically there’s no way they could keep that up so the only thing to do is ignore them all and eventually people see what’s real.

If it's not from the FOAMF sessions then it certainly sounds like it is.

For that reason it's a hard pass.

I know in the AP interview they mentioned that the 1972 thing just eventually evolved into Saviors. I think Fever, OEB, DJD were probably a collection of songs meant for whatever 1972 was supposed to be.

From the sound of those songs it would have been a successor to Foam sonically and in style. When Rob came in the dynamic shifted and of course in turn so does the tracklist and project as a whole.

kind of like a C&V situation again

If this is the case then Cavallo is even more of a fucking hero than we first thought.

Generally FOAMF was not recieved well - even amongst the band's most enthusiastic support.

Seems insane that they'd go "yeah, let's do more of that"

There was always demos available online from Dookie sessions. There was a lot of clarity around that for a long time. It’s not news.

Fever and DJD were finished for FOAM and never released. OEB was recorded in late 2020. This was said 1000 times here, and you're still creating theories based on the voices of your heads

Doesn’t mean it wasn’t going to be used for the next album though or re-recorded or re-mixed etc.

Not sure what’s with people’s hostility on here today….

The thing with Rob is he really makes bands pump out their songs in high quality and in volume. Look at Less Than Jake with Anthem. They also had B is for B Sides which came out of their Anthem sessions with Cavallo.

His process works because you are pushing harder and getting more output. It generates more options for the album and hence you can piece together a nice tracklist.

but this is a given when the artist is committed. Something like the trilogy is a bit of an example of that process not hitting the goal. Part of it is the volume being fully released and the other part seems to be a drop off from the artist. They didn’t have 37 album worthy songs in the tank that time around and some aren’t even as good as some of their B-sides.

Maybe Butch Walker is listed as an additional engineer for Saviors on Tidal because they recorded demos of the songs around or shortly after the FOAM recording sessions with him and maybe even started the project with him until Rob Cavallo joined the project?

JAR was recorded during the Insomniac sessions as Jerry Finn had no involvement with Dookie at all

however a few years ago some blog site did an article about the Angus soundtrack and they mentioned that Green Day “was working on an album and during a break recorded JAR for the use of the soundtrack” (not an exact exact quote just going by memory) so from the sounds of it was never meant for Insomniac

as Liam mentioned since it was demoed around Dookie era with the possibility it could’ve ended up on Dookie they probably just associate it more with that album than Insomniac when it sounds like they never considered using it for Insomniac
