He had no involvement with Dookie, except he mixed the record..

For years it's been known that JAR was written around the Dookie years but based off the engineering team for JAR we know it recorded during the Insomniac sessions. They probably just chose to include it with Dookie because that's when it was originally written and the albums were recorded pretty close together anyway

This. Everyone is literally fighting over a slight technicality. What do we think the difference between the demo and finalized version is? Maybe 12-18 months? Maybe less?

however a few years ago some blog site did an article about the Angus soundtrack and they mentioned that Green Day “was working on an album and during a break recorded JAR for the use of the soundtrack” (not an exact exact quote just going by memory) so from the sounds of it was never meant for Insomniac

as Liam mentioned since it was demoed around Dookie era with the possibility it could’ve ended up on Dookie they probably just associate it more with that album than Insomniac when it sounds like they never considered using it for Insomniac

Hey Tim, Jerry Finn actually mixed Dookie and was definitely a big part of the sound as he was on any record he worked on.

Jerry Finn was incredible if you look at all his work. What a legacy to leave behind and big shoes to fill in for those at the time rising up in the industry. RIP Jerry Finn, not a a day goes by where I don’t hear you guitar tones in my head. Learned a lot from him for my own rig.

CLA was the next big thing but that’s also when compression started plaguing mixes. He’s amazing though.

@Mato @Lenny

that was a blunder I was confusing Kevin Army with Jerry Finn my bad

JAR has Kevin Army as engineered and mixed by Kevin Army Army wasn’t around for Dookie as far as the credits go

True the Jerry finn thing, but he is a mixer. They could record It during dookie and not mix in that moment because It was not in the final album tracklist (Christie Road dookie versión and 409 aren't mixed by Jerry finn despite being recorded druring dookie. Chris dugan is the mixer for this songs in the credits and he neither waa on dookie times).  J.a.r. is a dookie outtake acording with the 30 anniversary dookie versión.

True but on the Angus credits Kevin Army is also listed as engineer if it was from Dookie Neil King would’ve been listed as engineer plus one of the soundtrack producers said GD was off tour and was working on an album and they did a quick recording

but who knows not really a huge deal

Snippet sounds awful, glad it's not on the album, hope others aren't like that

Definitely sounds like it belongs on FOAMF (or nowhere at all)

Will non-believer once again be paired with fever?

Seize the night / I gotta fever tonight / not believing my eyes / cause the fevers tonight

And then Mike Dirnt and Tom McDonald do a battle rap, followed by a Rock N Roll Wife section sung by Tre where he does an opera song about being brainless and rattles off the names of 51 children he has fathered.   It's all the people in the music videos, which is neat.  😄   oh and Z from the Network beat boxes and plays drums on it.

I know in the AP interview they mentioned that the 1972 thing just eventually evolved into Saviors. I think Fever, OEB, DJD were probably a collection of songs meant for whatever 1972 was supposed to be.

From the sound of those songs it would have been a successor to Foam sonically and in style. When Rob came in the dynamic shifted and of course in turn so does the tracklist and project as a whole.

kind of like a C&V situation again

Ok somebody help me out.......what is DJD?

Damn Juvenile Delinquents, but the song was leaked under the title "DJD", that's just what it stands for.

This and fever were just snippets. Not much content in the leak.

No, usually CDs and Japanese releases get extra stuff because I'm pretty sure they're more expensive so they try to add extra to make it more worth it? Don't quote me on that but Japan exclusives are common with more than just Green Day. You'll definitely hear it on YouTube

What @Flynn wrote. I also read that CDs are more expensive in Japan, this is why they get exclusive bonus tracks on many CDs.

I preordered the Assai obi vinyl thinking it would be like the Japanese release but I don't think Fever is on it. Suppose I'll find out Friday
