Another interesting part is when he talks about of them always wanting to evolve, asking themselves what was going to be their "Tommy" or "Sgt. Pepper". They were always set to make American Idiot eventually and I'm glad it wasn't rushed and they had time to mature. Also, it makes me wonder the struggle of the three of them in the 90's in the punk scene 'cause clearly they found a sense of belonging in the scene and got pretty upset when they were essencially banned but at the same time they wanted to branch out their music. That must've been a real internal struggle for some time.

I'm only a half hour or so in, and I am honestly STUNNED at the lack of "yknows." He sounded really comfortable and not bored. It was nice to hear.

I think they probably edit out any umms and yknows on podcasts, but generally, Billie does seem to interject with that much less than he used to.

Gosh, you’re right, not a stumbling y’now at all.  He does sound very relaxed.

I've always wanted to know if Billie got the DWK tattoo the same way the other guys with it did. So close.

I liked the focus on Jason at the beginning.

I just remembered his story about how he and Mike played with leaves when they were little that they thought were magical. So cute. I know they’ve been friends forever, but that put into perspective just how little they were and how special that bond must be.

Wish Dak mentioned Blink when he brought up rivals and keeping up with other bands just to finally her Billie give his opinion….I new my thought of Smashing Pumpkins similar to Green Day or rivals as they got big first in grunge area 90’s….the offspring I always felt had a sound very different to Green Day I think Blink (although not a huge fan) would be more of a rival or a better band for Dax to bring up.

omg this was amazing! though, the editing job was a bit trigger happy, so I felt delirious part of the time

but why cant someone please ask what the 27 tattoo represents? I’ve wanted to know for like 23 years now!

It's the logo of The Riverdales. They supported Green Day early on and Billie mixed their first album.
