What I find really interesting about this video is that I feel like it’s a reality he likely could not face unless he was presently in a good place. Which isn’t to say he doesn’t struggle, but I think if he were currently in the thick of it, this isn’t the type of honesty he (or anyone who deals with addiction) would be able to own up to, because as the video so blatantly shows, addiction doesn’t let you think you’re having anything but a good time. It’s such a poignant and reflective video.

I honestly don’t know. Pretty sure it’s more than LMNB got, but less than TADIKM. But that was to be expected as that was the lead single. Most importantly, almost all of the reactions that I saw and read were positive.

Thinking about it, and the two other things that hit me, are in the party scene, a lot of it is random hands handing drinks to Billie, rubbing his hair, etc. And in the later bar scene and wrong house scene, it's Billie by himself. Everyone else had gone home.

I think my favorite part of the song is when he sings "I just wanna drink the poison". That one always hits me in the guts. You can really feel the struggle between self-destruction and desperately trying to gain control of your life. 💔

Alice Baxley posted a comment by a redditor where she said they totally got it, and the comment was that the video was two POVs, what the binge night looks like to the drinker (b/w) and what it really looks like to everyone else (color). When it goes to color you’re seeing what actually happened that the partier doesn’t remember or only realizes the next day when people tell him.

Holy shit. A song by Billie Joe about coming to terms with the fact that he is mortal, and his behaviors pre-iHeartRadio were a slow cycle that was killing him. Maybe even a song about his post-iHeart stint in rehab? I don't think we've seen a song this sharp, biting and personal since, I mean, I don't even know. This one hit me in the feels. I've never been a partier, never touched anything heavier than pot, never been a heavy drinker, although I am capable of a good binge in the right company, and I still feel him. It's not GD's best song of the past whatever years, not even my favorite song of the past whatever years (my heart belongs to thee, Still Breathing), but it is the biggest gut punch I've felt from a GD song that I can remember.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting it, but I hope I'm not. This is a brilliant song that's going to fly under the radar to some extent, and it shouldn't. It's too good.

Wow, what an amazing response Dilemma is getting from everyone! While I love the vid, I’ve  been hesitant to comment on the song because it really hasn’t clicked with me yet, and is probably my least favorite from Saviors Side A (probably because it reminds me of the low points on Rev Rad, an album I still struggle getting into).

Was just listening to Holy Toledo! and it struck me how similar in content it is to Dilemma. “I wanna go where the trouble begins” “we’re hellraisers/deathwish cravers” “killing myself just to live” Party sound with a heavy dose of regret

On another note, I hate how YouTube puts thumbnails all over the last 15-20 seconds of a video. I want to see the last quick cuts, they’re important to the story and because half the image is obscured they’re hard to make out. Directors put a lot of work into these videos and the dumb clickbait goes right on top like its nothing. I’d like to see a version with them removed if possible

This makes total sense, considering I this song is totally RevRad vibes.

So we've had TADIKM with AI/21CB vibes, LMNB with Dookie/Insomniac vibes, and now Dilemma with RevRad vibes. And all of them are still quite similar to each other, very obviously Saviors and nothing else, even though they pay homage to other eras. I love this.

I was wondering where to watch without those endscreens as well.  Maybe music videos should have a 20 second gap at the end specifically for this.   Sometimes, if I can't put an end screen feature on a video, you get 20 second of me just staring into your soul or screaming "endscreen!!!!!!" until the end.  😄   We could get little Green Day ditties to fill the gap.  That's an idea!  Ballad of Wilhelm Fink.  Ballad of Mongo Fink.  Look Ma, I Found Some Brains.   Herion Pop XXXX☆

This song hits hard every single time I listen. I have my own vice, though its not alcohol, and it puts that into perspective for me. It also hots on another level as a few years ago I wrote a song about my dad's alcohol issues from my perspective and Dilemma gives me what could possibly be his perspective.

Yes I love that song though lyrically it’s very heavy. Dirty Rotten Bastards is another one. He’s touched on the subject a lot of how he worries that his habits will catch up to him someday in the worst way.

Listening to this song in the car is like an out-of-body experience. I know it’s not new for Billie to growl or yell a bit in songs, but the amount he’s doing it and the emotion he’s putting into it in this song just hits me different. I can’t even imagine what an incredible song this will be performed live.
