If you look at the comments almost all are extremely positive about the video and the song. I don’t care about that stuff but it’s not something I’ve seen on a GD song for a long time so I wanted to note that. They’re 3/3 since October and many people called that out in comments. Last time Green Day was 3/3 was during AI. Can this album go 5/5? It makes no difference to me, but for them, I really want this album to succeed and it makes me so happy to see the great response these songs have gotten. It feels like an uphill battle by no fault of their own to reach the masses — rock has been out of style among the general public for a long time, and so it’s difficult to even get this stuff from the most popular rock bands heard anymore. So far, I think the music itself and the marketing is setting the album up to do well. I certainly hope so. 15

I also love how the video goes in and out of Billie’s perspective!!! 4

You go from making something a lifestyle to going cold turkey. Then you try and settle for a balance and then it spins out of control and then youre back to the beginning. I’m right there with you on this and my own journey - this song hit differently for sure just for how accurate it was. Also interesting to think about GD songs that surround this process and the order they appeared: lazy bones to still breathing to FOAMF (generally) to Holy Toledo! to Dilemma. All of these together really speak to this perpetual cycle and learning to live with addiction. 5

They haven't had a "mainstream smash hit" since at least 2009. Even if it's their most successful single post-21CB, that won't make it a smash hit. I think the days of Green Day "mainstream smash hits" is long gone 6 2

They deserve it, the songwriting has returned to where it needs to be. So far this is shaping up to possibly be the best post 21cb album. 5

I think the days of Green Day "mainstream smash hits" is long gone Oh Love was on the hot 100 and all singles from uno were in full rotation in my area until the clear channel ban. They haven’t had a smash hit since clear channel fucked them let’s be honest on that. They have had solid back catalog rotation and the newer singles got good airplay when they were new and relevant on alt rock stations. I think this song is solid though and if the record proves to be strong it will build traction. It’s not even released yet but definitely already has a lot of positive comments about it. The people will dictate the story. On the albums after Uno they got abandoned by core fans and the public atleast when it came to the consumption of new music.
Jankowski576
Obviously very serious topic, but the whole house break in scene where the Christmas tree falls on him is hilarious 3

Popular Post DeJennsitized
I kinda love that off key guitar note at the start, just before the chorus kicks in. It’s jarring but also fits with the theme. And the video is so fucking good, 100% up there with their best.
farley drexel hatcher
yeah, acting wise, he was brave doing the fake vom scene while making it look realistic and not actually gagging

BUBBYBUB
First of all Billie looks fabulous 👌 and the song is so on point, I'm glad he's being vulnerable with this. I think brinhmging awareness as well when there is still so much ignorance about addiction 2

Popular Post lucky_stars
It’s actually shocking how much better these first three singles are compared to the first three from FOAMF - Father of All - Fire Ready Aim - Oh Yeah 🤮
Popular Post Rumpelstiltskin2000
Whoa the video is amazing. As someone who's been through rehab (told I only had a year to live if I didn't stop drinking) it gave me the chills. Just whoa! So much I want to say but am hopeless at putting my thoughts into words. I love the song and it's brilliantly done but it's actually my least favourite of the three so far. And just for the people talking about being able to drink in moderation if you're truly an alcoholic it's not possible. One drink is too many because sooner or later that one drink is going to lead you right back to the mess you started off with.
Popular Post Robbie1039
I love how they’ve had the videos ready for the release of the songs! Also one of my favorite Green Day riffs already. I think they could’ve played it for longer! But I guess that’s just going to make me want to play it over and over even more!
Popular Post Biddymc
Fantastic song. And fantastic video. I think this song hits so differently than Still Breathing. . Brutal Love is one of my favorite trilogy song, and this one speaks to me in the same way. In a way, it makes Still Breathing sound pretty naive to the whole post rehab scenario. Such a slippery slope addiction. One of the things that resonates with me is wanting to be able to have the fun, and being around someone with issues, and still having a part of me want them to be a part of the fun. It's why I find it easy to turn a blind eye to it at times. And then boom, you're at the not fun part, and the impact on friends and family is honestly brutal. It's really hard to be honest about that part. It's a lot easier to diminish the impact and deflect the damage. If Billie is doing that work in his real life, well I give him credit... In terms of this song tho, lyrics, guitar riffs, just a total banger. I really have liked all 3 songs so far, and they have all piqued my interest in different ways. I am super excited to hear this album from start to finish. Bring on Saviors!

1 minute ago, Redundantuserjinxboy said: I wonder if this song will chart I think it will chart on the rock/alternative charts at least. I think LMNB wasn't intended to be a serious single. I think it was just sort of like Fire Ready Aim, a pre-release single but the promotional focus was more on Father of All and Oh Yeah, and I think this time around, there's gonna be more focus on TADIKM and Dilemma probably One thing I noticed about the video is it almost seems to be trying to be funny even though the song is really depressing and personal. Or at least that's what I've seen people take from the video, like thinking Billie going into someone's home all drunk and stuff is funny and in a way it is. But watching that video kind of just makes me sad. It's a good video. It just makes me sad seeing Billie acting like that. Even if he's just acting

Love that you compared this to Brutal Love, because both songs also hit me in the same way. They carry that same ache of being someone or loving someone who is struggling and trying to battle through the ugliest parts of it. Brutal Love is a song that still affects me the same way it did when I first heard it, and I feel like Dilemma will be the same.
