I am not a specialist in poetic forms. https://www.scribophile.com/academy/types-of-poetry It seems to be following the format of ABAC ADAE FEGE for its rhyming scheme. After further analysis: The sections for the song seem to be following a format of: A B C B C B "Picture sounds Of moving insects so surreal Lay around Looks like I found something new Laying in my bed, I think I'm in left field I picture someone, I think it's you You're standing so damn close, my body begins to swell Why does one add one make two? Picture sounds Of moving insects so surreal Lay around Looks like I found something new " Looks like a Palindrome hidden in it, but then it's got another Palindrome overlapping it. When looking at the syllables for each line it appears to be: 12,7,12,7... 3,8,3,7... 11,9,13,7 hmmm.... it's tempting me to write a code poem mixing up both syllables and Acrostic Poetry but I'm not planning on it at this time, since that would be simply difficult. 2
Cz_Ecko
@HoneyEmerald I was kind of thinking that it's a free verse from its almost completely random rhyme pattern (AXAX ABAC BCXC) but thinking about the theme of the song it makes sense why it formatted this way, almost as if it was written this pattern as if to say your mind cant focus or concentrate on one thing for too long as even with the subject it keeps bouncing around, just a thought tho. I looked at it again and I kind of see the rhyme pattern a little differently than A B C B C B: "A small cloud has fallen, and the white mist hits the ground A My lungs comfort me with joy X Vegging on one detail, the rest just crowds around A My eyes itch of burning red X Picture sounds A Of moving insects so surreal B Lay around A Looks like I found something new C Laying in my bed, I think I'm in left field B I picture someone, I think it's you C You're standing so damn close, my body begins to swell X Why does one add one make two?" C Oh I see! You are using X where it doesn't rhyme! Yes I can see where it is more of a free verse. I just found it interesting that hidden inside it appears to have other forms. I attempted to figure out a poem for the syllables and Acrostic poetry thing I mentioned ... way too difficult. Any numbers I'd hide in it wouldn't make any sense as a poem and using the first letter of every line to spell something out would be too obvious.
