But idk , something feels off about the mixing in this song..

Although 21CB is my favourite album, I would not recommend Billie to put himself back into an unhealthy situation just so he can make better music if the result is potentially harmful. He can make fantastic music without putting himself in that kind of situation, I'm sure of it. Considering 21CB wasn't even that successful of an album commercially or critically or among a lot of their fans, I doubt he'd even consider it to be worth putting that kind of pressure on himself 30+ years in their career, almost 20 years since their last smash hit album.

Green Day already have so many great albums. Even if they never have a truly groundbreaking album ever again, ik that there is so much already existing material that I will want to continue going back to. Any good releases in the future are just a bonus for me at this point

LMNB is the kind of song Billie can write in his sleep these days, but that doesn't make it bad or simple. He's just gotten so good at the two minute power pop song and yes it's very Longshot and that's what I love about it. I still think the Longshot songs should have been Green Day songs and this is a good example of what that would have sounded like.

First listen impressions:

Instantly got some Maria vibes at the beginning of the song, followed by Nimrod vibes, followed by Trilogy vibes, specifically Ashley with the tiniest bit of Insomniac sprinkled throughout.

I love the sound and I like the song. Just like TADIKM, I think this one does quite a lot in it's short running time and I think it will take a few more listens for it to really grow on me. I was really surprised by how long it took before I heard the main chorus and then how quickly it came back again and then just finished but I do think it's really awesome that some of these songs seem to be switching up traditional song structures for something a bit more unexpected.

Green Day were so smiley while playing the song live, it feels weird that they look so gloomy in the video.  I guess Green Day don't smile in many videos, but it feels like they are hiding them extra hard.   What a bop.   There's some insane layered guitars that really make the song.  I'd love to hear the song taken apart and dissected.   To see it's heart and what makes it tick.

Both videos have warnings at the beginning.  Violence.  Strobe light.   What's next....extreme nudity like Oh Love???   Adam and Eve partying hard in the Garden of Eden or something really edgy?

If the lyrics were literal, this is one messed up song.  Billie’s covered in poop, dying of veritgo,  losing his skull, has no brains...I certainly hope that Bobby Sox and Suzie Chapstick can help him on his journey, because he needs a Dorothy, Toto, Lion and Tinman if he wants to chug thay sweet, sweet fancy sauce at the end of the rainbow.   It'll make him feel like a cello, and I'm jello baby.

Again for me, really maddening timing for everything, I have very little spare time just now but I love LMNB, the video is cool and definitely giving me old school GD vibes.  I really think the album is going to evoke vintage GD at the least.

Song is growing on me and I think I'll like it more once I'm listening to the album in its entirety.
