I don’t know if anyone else will agree, but the instrumental part of Suzie Chapstick is absolutely gonna be used in so many commercials, probably for package holidays and cars

Nice to know the album is good. The only thing I am concerned about is repetetive lyrics that I saw in the booklet. Are they really that obvious or you don't notice that fact cause music is just too melodic?

1981 and Corvette Summer are the worst offenders.    Corvette Summer really needed some additional words to make it....a song.  Lol

Yeah this bangs. I obtained the album through legal means. It’s their best since American Idiot and I would’ve been the LAST person to have anything overtake 21st CB. Mike Dirnt is back.

I think Corvette Summer would be more appropriate for car commercials, especially with the line that goes, “Get a ride, I can get around”

What a fucking bummer, like for real...after doing half festivals and half solo shows during hellamega, they will do it again this summer in europe...bad enough

But i just saw the updated tourdates poster, and realized they wont play the dookie/AI albums at all those european festival shows ... i know they dont owe us shit but that makes me kinda sad/angry

Edit:

And kinda obvious they probably do it simply for Ticket selling purpose, cant blame them for that but thats a bitter taste

As headliners they get the amount of time they need to play the albums in full..

ahhh so happy with this album. I think it’s the album we all needed. Like its been mentioned here before, it’s a great sign when everyone has a different favorite. Green Day at its best, great melodies and harmonies, catchy hooks, and a mix of fast paced, mid tempo and slow songs. 9/10 for me

Yeah, I just saw their post on Instagram and I feel just the same. One could argue that festival sets are usually shorter but they’re headliners so they can basically “demand“ a longer set. Die Ärzte will probably also play for 2+ hours so Green Day could do it, too. Most European dates are festivals and this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for all of us fans. And I would go to one of their solo shows but I simply can’t. So yeah, it sucks. I just really hope that we’ll at least get some of the AI/Dookie deep cuts and some of the new songs instead of the classic greatest hits setlist.

Since they are talking about Saviors as filling the gap between Dookie and AI, I wonder if they will literally make that happen playing the Saviors songs between the two sets.

This would make perfect sense.  Then you would have time after Dookie to build up the anticipation of them playing American Idiot in its entirety.

I'm completely satisfied with this album. This album makes up for Father of all.  I'm totally jealous of all of those people that got to see them in the subway.

It’s probably also because of timing and stage production, as well as different kind of expected audience. Sounds like they will build something special around these shows based on what Mike said, and probably it’s hard to replicate that on a festival stage that stays the same for every day/every band.

Ticket sales are fine for the tour, selling out in Europe too

its probably a festival set isn’t the place for 2 album shows, as crummy as it is

currently listening to Bobby Sox. there are some production choices that actually resemble FOAM IMHO (but with an entirely different outcome, obviously). It's a banger
