The fellas may not be the best with time because 20 of that is JOS AND Homecoming so 70 minutes for all of dookie and the rest of AI seems like a long shot.

Linda lindas 6-630. Rancid 645-730. Smashing pumpkins 745-830? Green day 845-11? You're right, you would have to cut the other bands even shorter (which I'm fine with) to give enough time for Green day to perform 2 full albums + saviors singles + classic hits

jengd
They could probably sort of medley through some of the “lesser” numbers to save time and energy. 3
That Dude
So many messages at the top of gdc. Blue, Orange, Red...if you get banned three times you have to join the new https://idiotparadise.proboards.com/ 😉 People are starting to get vinyls and cds. I'm sure you guys are already stalking them into the ground to hear the songs a day or so early. Cause you guys are nuts! 😄 Cool setlist idea, but I'd rather Saviors and Idiot. Doogie? Or Saviors and FOAM. Screw that old people music.
Popular Post Christian's Inferno!
Well that was an interesting album... I actually was impressed. It was not at all what I was expecting and I was actually a bit worried based on the singles. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the singles but they were definitely the wrong choices for singles. OEB especially was an odd choice cause that's probably the weakest song. The only reason I can think of that would've made them release it is because it had already leaked so they just decided to throw it out there. There were times that I felt like I was listening to something really special, like when I listen to 21CB (which as many of you probably know, is my favourite album). It really is their best produced album since 21CB. It seemed Rob wanted to do another Green Day album to show that the trilogy wasn't the note he wanted to go out on with this band (while I really like the trilogy, the production is not something that stands out in a good way). Best vocally since 21CB. Guitars are great. Drums are great. I don't really recall the bass having any moments where it's leading the songs like for other Green Day albums but Mike's definitely doing his thing at points here too. And I'm sure I'll notice more as I continue listening. The band definitely saw that fans weren't into FOAMF and really put time and effort into making a really solid album this time around. There are a lot of mid-tempo stuff that try to be these big epic moments and it mostly succeeds in that department. The shortest songs are the fastest pace ones as you'd expect where Billie and the band go kinda crazy and these are good songs, and the slower moments work well too. It's pretty damn consistent, none of these new songs are tracks that I just see myself skipping I'll need to listen more before I can come to any conclusions. FOAMF and RevRad I liked a lot more at first before my opinion on them started to sour a little bit. I was expecting an album like RevRad, enjoyable but not something that particularly stands out for me. For a first listen, I'd probably give that a 9/10. Might go down on repeated listens but I really enjoyed that. Definitely not gonna overtake my absolute favourite Green Day albums but it's their best album in years for sure. Leagues better than FOAMF.

The only thing I am concerned about is repetetive lyrics that I saw in the booklet. Are they really that obvious or you don't notice that fact cause music is just too melodic?

It wasn't something that bothered me. Maybe they do it a lot? But I think Billie changes how he sings some of the repeated lines at times. And at the end of the day, if the song is good, I don't really care. The lyrics in the verses seemed to be pretty solid for the most part but I wasn't paying too much attention to the lyrics and the meaning behind all the songs. At the very least there wasn't any real cringe shit that other albums have had

ampsp16
Okay, I've listened to the album and I'm able to do a little review. The singles we all know, my opinion is that in terms of strongest it's definitely Dilemma, but my favorite is One Eyed Bastard. One Eyed Bastard > Look Ma No Brains > Dilemma > The American Dream is Killing Me. I wasn't expecting any resemblance to FOAMF here, and thankfully we don't have any except for the verse of Living in the 20s, which feels a little Fire Ready Aim alike and that's probably why it's one of my least favorites. Bobby Sox is very interesting, my favorite part of that song is the bridge, which is awesome. 1981 is much better studio-wise than live. Really shines Mike's playing. It feels like a Nimrod song with trilogy production. Goodnight Adeline is a pretty song. Coma City is much more interesting than the snippets we had. There's a sort of coda in which Tré goes absolutely crazy. That song has weird chord progressions for Green Day. Corvette Summer is the best song to go on a long ride. The ending part of the song is cool. The thing I started to notice once I got here is that the songs have something unexpected them. Like a different chord progression than to what we previously heard in the same song. The same for Corvette Summer. Suzie Chapstick is the prettiest song here. It's acoustic and sweet. And it contains one of my favorite chord progressions ever. D, G, C, Am. Strange Days are Here to Stay if like if Insomniac, Nimrod and Uno had a baby. It's probably the coolest song of this record. Living in the 20s, the verses are pretty meh for me, because they are very garage rock like, sounding like a Foxboro Hot Tubs song, but after the second chorus.. damn. The song goes everywhere. It's bombastic. Literally. Father to a Son is pretty sweet. I'm becoming a dad pretty soon (fingers crossed everything goes well) and that song is beautiful. It reminds me a bit of The Forgotten in the key changes mid song. Saviors isn't an unremarkable piece as Billboard Italy decided to put it. Especially the outro part of the song. It's great. Fancy Sauce, I feel like this song is my life it had a melody. The chorus part, I mean. It's great, and once again it sounds a bit like The Forgotten but heavier. I'm on the fence as to what rating I would give it. It's definitely higher than Rev Rad and FOAMF. I'd argue it's probably going to be higher than 21st CB (great album, but not one of my favs). I'd say about a 7,5/8. My favs: Suzie Chapstick, One Eyed Bastard, Strange Days are Here to Stay My least favs: Corvette Summer, Bobby Sox, The American Dream is Killing Me

Christian's Inferno!
One thing I'm glad to say about this album is that it feels like the songs and album are a perfect length. The songs don't feel unfinished like FOAMF's songs which often ended prematurely and the album doesn't seem too short like FOAMF. Sugar Youth is usually referred to as being the best song on FOAMF but that song ends way too fast. Even RevRad felt like it was a bit too short but even though this album is only a minute longer, it still feels like a more substantial release. Maybe it's just cause there's 15 songs compared to 12, or maybe it's just cause it's following FOAMF (their shortest album) while RevRad was following their longest project (the trilogy) and was their first album since Warning to just be a normal 40-ish minute album. But I'm happy with how much substance there seems to be on Saviors. Even the shortest songs on the album don't feel like they're cut off before they get a chance to leave an impression. I'm also kind of glad that there are no multi-part songs tbh. The songs all stand out as being their own thing. Being part of a longer song wouldn't feel necessary and just make it seem like another attempt at Jesus of Suburbia or something
