Is anyone else worried about the constant rehashing of old melodies? All of them just sound like mashed up versions of old songs or ripped off from other artists. Just realised Livin In The 20’s is just Oh Yeah on steroids 😂

I’m only going off the teasers released today from them officially but literally everything I’ve heard off this album just sounds like something else 😂 I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable as a full listen but I’m worried replay value will be an issue.

i just listened to the official teasers and well, i know they are just reeeally short song snippets but i am less hyped now (still hyped af of course)

dont get me wrong, i am sure the songs will be awesome, but just from the snippets most of the song have a similar "sound", they sound too "same-ish"

Maybe the label wants me to get the l!@$ first and they will give me instructions on how to legally sh!@# it.

Probably not, though.  They haven't responded yet. 😄

so I basically don’t get the hate for a song that sounds like another

I never used the word hate or implied anything like that. They can do what they want, but  I think it shows a lack of creativity, instantly the hype dies down if everyone feels like they’ve heard it before.

I think this will be forgotten about very very quickly. Not because of its quality, the production is excellent. But replay value (like games) is very much a factor now due to streaming etc.

A band like Bring Me The Horizon (whatever you think of them) are about 5 years ahead of everyone else in terms of style, melodies, production and practically anything involving being an artist, so not really an excuse.

But hey, if you enjoy listening to the same things over and over again, don’t let anyone stop ya ✌🏻

You have FOAM there so you don't have to worry. When you get tired of Saviors, you have FOAM to listen to

I would rather listen to someone taking a dump in the cubicle next to me than listen to FOAMF again. Horrific album.

Well every one and I say really every one does that sometimes you see it sometimes not  there are many examples new blink (I know many people like them here lol) is basically old songs reworked, muse has many many songs ripped off from other songs sometimes it’s well done sometimes it’s gross (the will of the people is basically manson’s the beautiful people or assassin is avarice of disturbed with another key)

I truly enjoyed Father of All, and it got me hyped about the future of Green Day.   But the Saviors sound is awesome and I'm here for it.   I bought three copies, which hasn't happened since American Idiot.

I'm not crazy!!! 😄

I mean if there's a song that i think is pretty shit like Oh Yeah and the band decides to take elements from that song to make it into an actual good song, then I don't care if it sounds similar. As long as it's not taking the shit aspects of the song and giving it to the new track. Making a bad song into a good one is a good thing. Though I've not listened to Livin' in the 20s myself yet so idk if it is taking one of the more alright parts of the song or if it's borrowing one of the aspects that makes me dislike Oh Yeah

This is why I don't listen these snippets nor leaks of any kind. I'd rather hear the full version as intended with my studio headphones instead of hearing stuff that doesn't tell you the whole picture about the song.

This conversation is always so touchy within the Rock circles online. Creativity isn’t so one dimensional you have to be 100% original with everything you create, not only is that insane but that’s literally imposssible

in little ways, whether you notice them or not, you are a combination of influences derived from the people you bump into throughout life, same applies to the creative human expression of music. Other genres do these things all the time, it’s for the best and it’s natural. Do we really think these lifelong musicians weren’t aware the structure is *sort of* similar to the most popular song from one of the 2000’s most popular artists? 🤣

I can already tell that "Goodnight Adeline" and "Fancy Sauce" are going to be my favorite songs from the new album.
