That Dude
There's almost too much to say about this album. I usually do a 700 word review, but I've got this monstrous 2000 word document on Saviors. It's time to reel it in a little bit. The short version is this: Suzie and Strange Days ROCK!

I understand reviews tried to find an example cause Billie Joe screamed a little bit more than he usually does, but for me it didn‘t sound like Chester Yeah I didn't hear anything that resembled Chester Bennington and parts of the song reminds me of teenage teenager so a kinda just like the change up really

GDFan2019
Take me to the inn In my loony bin Somewhere I can rest my head And take it on the chin Flowers all in bloom In my rubber room Scratching at the wallpaper In my solitude Holy shit, this has to be the best, most personal song he’s ever written!!! Anybody have any ideas why the song is called Fancy Sauce?

They need to fuck a robot that only speaks English. Takes a direct shot at their inability to get sex as well as their racism against anybody that is a non-English speaker That’s a great interpretation, much more powerful than what I came up with
The 99th revolution
1st off, they're literally back to the 39 smooth/slappy era again with resting heads (rest, paper lanterns), this song could've easily been on 1,039 2nd off, it's like naming a song 'fart episode 2' with the lyrics being as depressing as wmuwse for example, I just don't get it 😕 2 minutes ago, GDFan2019 said: Take me to the inn In my loony bin Somewhere I can rest my head And take it on the chin Flowers all in bloom In my rubber room Scratching at the wallpaper In my solitude Holy shit, this has to be the best, most personal song he’s ever written!!! That Dude
It's literal, Billie Joe bought a robot. You guys saw Billie says he hadn't heard The Black Parade by MCR???????????? I get it, you were busy trying to follow up Idiot but, Billie. You really should check it out. Otherwise, Gerard might change a lyric to I spent my high school career Spit on and shoved to agree So I could watch Green Day Sell a taco on TV Bring out the old guillotine Seperate em from their no-brains
That Dude
I don't hear Dookie. I hear the American Idiot sound with a lot of Uno and Tre thrown into the mix and some sprinkles of nimrod and Breakdown. Interestingly enough, the lyrics book has images from warning, breakdown, kerplunk and idiot on the "living in the '20s" page. Definely don't hear Kerplunk or warning......but I love it. I love their new sound and the only songs that need time to grow in my ears are Coma City and Corvette Summer. Also, not a lot of explicit lyrics, but a lot of touchy subjects. 5 songs where the title isn't sung and Look Ma is on the fence for that part. He's clearly saying "look mom, I ain't go no brain" but hey. I'll let it slide. He ain't got no brains to title the song correctly, that's cool. Kind of a Bouncing of the Singular Wall moment. STRANGE DAYS ARE HERE TO STAY - should be a single. Suzie and this one. Immediately. oh, and the latest vocab word I learned is "Ballyhoo". However you also gotta keep in mind that people need a target for how they feel about life. If that means being overly negative toward a band they "used" to hold in high regard then so be it. What I've learned is if you don't like the way a band is now, move on. Going on forums or denigrating people because they still like a band you used to like is not productive. Shoot I used to like no doubt until they dropped rock steady. I hated that album outside of hella good and don't let me down. Nevertheless you're not going to see me on their message board talking trash about the band since i'm not a fan of their work after that album nor am I going to make videos on my youtube page about how much I don't like their music now. Life is short, too much nasty people in the world. Focus on the stuff you do like and have a fun. You can agree to disagree about your taste in music. People these days just want to have a reason to get into with someone whether they know them or not. No need, keep it movin. I would put suzie chapstick more so at the bottom Well said. I agree 100%. I have never understood people who will willingly diss a band they no longer like and make others feel bad about it. People have tried to make me feel bad about liking GD, Blink, and even a band like Bullet for my Valentine and I never understood why. I'm just trying to listen to music I enjoy. There's a lot out there I don't like including artists I used to love. Why put so much energy into hating it and spreading that hate online? Stating an opinion sure but don't put down others because they like something you don't. 9

PoisonLemonade
The name Fancy Sauce sounds like a silly working studio title for a song, and they just had nothing else for it by the time they were done.

Bobby, One Eye, Corvette Summer, Suzie and Fancy Sauce could have been "Boyfriend", "Vendetta", "My Rock N Roll", "Lonely Night" and "Paradise For Locos" but no, Green Day got creative. I'm gonna say....fourth best record of all time?

Harry
Is Fancy Sauce perhaps a daft nickname for booze? The lyrics kinda make it look like it's a song about rehab? Edited January 14 by Harry
