The song, personally, was not a stand-out at all. I guess if you have kids or a great relationship with your parents it may be different, but the lyrics were pretty meaningless to me. Gorgeous arrangement, but probably my least favorite track, by far, on the entire album. yea i think so, i dont speak to my dad for years now bc he is an asshole and the lyrics and i just cant feel the lyrics in father to a son

I had completely forgotten about Regretfully Yours and am now nearly 24 hours from one hearing of Father To A Son but I could believe they started off the same, or one spawned the other. Might think they are closer on second hearing but either way, I thought Father To A Son was beautiful, but again, not the best environment for listening to a ballad. I seem to remember thinking Billie's vocals was gorgeous. 2

I don't mind 1981, it's a short song so it doesn't over stay it's welcome even though it's repetitive lol I kinda wish "father to a son" was more orchestral because I feel like it would've had it's own Identity, I think the power ballad treatment was a bit overdone on that one I like the solo on "goodnight adeline" billie played the hell out of it and the chord change up was awesome as well 14 minutes ago, jengd said: I had completely forgotten about Regretfully Yours and am now nearly 24 hours from one hearing of Father To A Son but I could believe they started off the same, or one spawned the other. ekim
I think "ordinary world" is the most depressing closer, although I like the song itself I don't think it should've been the final track, I mean revolution radio opens with "somewhere now" so why not end it with forever now?

Because I pre-ordered the CD to get tour presale access I feel like waiting for it lol. Only heard the songs with music videos so far Me, not going to listen to any voice memos or other crappy recordings. What is clear from the songs officially released so far is that the production value behind this record is pretty amazing, and all of that gets completely lost with these “leaks”. Friday is behind the corner, can wait for it.

I went back and listened to these Paper bullets tunes last night wow how songs like "baby blue" and "dreamcatcher" "regretfully yours" "follow you around" didn't make uno dos tre is a freaking joke knowing what actually did make the albums.
Dysfunco
For those who've heard the whole thing: was there any parts where billie departed from his usual modern vocal style these days? (= as in a overall higher-pitched and well-rounded delivery) Such as singing in a lower voice, using more of his iconic "gnarl", etc? (atleast on the live versions of 1981 he does appear to accentuate words such as "pain", "cocaine" etc in that old-school kind of way) Would just love some Warning-era style vocals... The way I see it although I did decide to listen to the leaked clips which obviously aren't the best quality but I still have something to look forward to because I know they're good songs so hearing them without the crying baby will definitely be great again who takes a fkn baby to an album listening party?? Lol No doubt, just a personal preference to listen to the whole record for the first time in the best possible way. It was intentional to have it leaked through the listening parties to create a positive buzz among fans, so there’s nothing bad in listening to these audios. And lol, not envy at all the people that maybe travelled for hours to get to that party and then got to listen to a crying baby mix of the record 🥴

Green day crashed one of the listening parties last night and it was cool seeing them enter the place the fans just looked in awe tre was air drumming one point smoking a joint it definitely was a green day indeed lol 1

But nothing on the opposite end of the spectrum - as in lower than usual, where more of his "old tone" shines through?
