The Trilogy catchiness, the post-sober BJ soul of RevRad and even Father of All, and honestly even glimpses of what make them great with American Idiot and Dookie (sound and melodies). If it hasn't been clear for a decade or so, this is 100% their sound. This is as Green Day as it gets. Multiple listens and hearing the song in full are basically required to actually know whether you'll enjoy the songs or not. I've not listened to the clips but I assume most of them are just like the chorus or pre-chorus of the songs or something. Sometimes the highlights of the songs are in the verses, or the bridge. Sometimes you need to listen to a song several times before you get it I think the least we can do is not shit on the songs until we actually hear the album. If you don't think you'll like the songs based on what you think of the singles, then fair enough. OEB is a little unoriginal but it’s fine. I’ve constantly said I hope I change my mind. I just hate the dismissive nature that I’m not a fan because I don’t like the clips 😂 I’ve literally paid for the best ticket possible for Wembley in June, I want to like this album so bad. Terrible stuff you get the most out of listening on streaming services and I HIGHLY doubt you hear the difference! I guess it's a Green Day fan base thing that everything has to be how they listened to music when they were younger. I do hear some heavy elements from Warning coming back into their sound and I think it compliments them more at this age now.
