Was the stage tour worth it at all? Like do you get to see the gear or just walk past it etc?

I play guitar so it sounds cool but close to a grand for like a 3 minute walk may not be all that.

This is gonna probably be the first tour I’ve missed in a while. I have no interest in going to Denver again, I don’t want to go to any of the west coast dates. Maybe I’ll go to Phoenix, but doubtful.

Wish they would add more Canadian dates in their tours. I can't afford to travel out of the country. Really really wish they would come to Halifax. Lots of other bands do, but not Green Day.

Green Day actually has played one of the bigger shows in Halifax history along with Rush. But I hear you, as a Canadian I was a bit disappointed to not see dates outside of Ontario. 21cb tour had so many Canada dates. But it looks like theyre going on that “effective touring” strategy which is MLB stadium based. But hell, atleast hit up Montreal to help out the east coast folks a bit.

maybe leg 2 for NA will be hockey arenas again? I think for that you’ll see some Canada dates.

Ah man sorry to hear that. I missed the last one as Canada would not let the band over the border. It sucks.

Got the VIP package for one of the Hella Mega shows I went to, and the VIP line got let in after some of the other GA entrances opened lol

Is it backstage? Do you get to meet the band? What’s the value behind those tickets? Is it worth it?

You get a tour of the stage itself, and probably an extremely limited amount of the backstage area - others that have done it can attest. There is no artist involvement with the VIP package, nor has there ever been. If there were, you would have seen loads of photo ops with the band & fans from Hella Mega floating around on the internet.

the only value imo is a dedicated VIP entrance, aka a separate line from the rest of general admission which probably gets let into the venue at the same time as everyone else.

Yeah, Canada really got boned on the last era. It looks like they’re getting boned on this era too, especially if you live in Vancouver, Calgary or anything out west haha. At least I’ve got some options, it’s just I know the tickets are gonna be expensive, the flights are gonna be expensive, the hotel will cost a pretty penny. I love the line up, but at the same time I’m having reservations about it all. Being a Green Day fan in Utah post 21st century breakdown tour really sucks haha.

They haven’t been to Ottawa since 2009. :(

At least I got these souvenirs from then… 🥲

Thanks for the advice everyone. I always thought VIPs were a waste but the reason I was considering it for this one was to maybe have a shorter line to get in so I don’t have to hang out all day and also to have a smaller concession tent to hang out during Smashing Pumpkin’s set. I know the crowds and lines at the merch and food stands at Hella Mega were insane, so I thought it would be worth it to have places with fewer people to hang. The free snacks and swag are a bonus too. I’m not expecting to get in first or get on the barrier.

Has a second leg been confirmed? I really wanna go see them in Toronto but if there is a second leg that may go to other places in Canada, I would rather wait and see if I can go anywhere closer to where I live.

1 hour ago, Khaleesi. said:VIP discussions always reminds me of the losers that bought VIP in Pittsburgh on that same Rev Rad tour, and were soooo pissed that “non-VIPers” were on the barrier. They were asking security to get us off and loudly wishing we would get shocked as punishment every time we touched the barrier. Real fun people.

Omg I remember that they were SO MEAN

I recently moved to Charlotte, NC. There is a fabulous out door arena here. I assumed they would be playing the Panthers stadium, but they are not, they are playing the outdoor arena. So I'm pretty excited!

I promise I won't be mean haha. I'm not a rich entitled asshole I just want an easy way to take a break during the show and grab some free stuff. You can stand in front of me, anywhere in the pit is closer than the seats.

All the presales are so confusing though. I have a Citi card and can maybe do the Citi presale on Tuesday, but the FAQ says the VIP premium presale begins Wednesday. So are they not selling any VIP tickets with the Citi presale? Should I wait? I hate Ticketmaster I feel like there are a million ways to screw this up.

My thought exactly when I saw like 12 different presale options for the DC show lol

Thanks for answering and thanks @Khaleesi. for your answer. Yeah I dont care about budding lines at all or even being on floors or GA. I wanted to meet the bands considering Im a fan of the big 3 and I was friends online with Branden from Rancid for a few years. We used to speak weekly about Green Day actually. He’s a big fan and showed me the guitar Billie gave him.

I was VIP for Rush and got to meet them. Would love to experience that with Green Day and Rancid.

Well our government didn’t help for covid era but yeah theyre limiting dates to Canada as a whole. I figure if I ever have to fly to a Green Day show I’ll align it with an Orlando gig and go to Universal again cause Im gonna go almost every year anyways.

No confirmation, all speculation. Which area would you like to see them play in Canada?

Yeah the Canadian government wasn’t very cool about the whole Covid thing haha. Good ol Justin is kind of a dick. Orlando is a cool city. I haven’t been there since I was like 10 though. I think going to the show in Nashville would be fun, if I go to that though I’d probably end up coming home with another Les Paul from the Gibson outlet haha.

It’s pretty unlikely, but anywhere in Eastern Canada. I live in New Brunswick, but apparently they’re banned here because of a mishap at a show in the 90s, so that’s off the table.

But if that doesn’t happen, I’d also love to see Vancouver. Just anywhere besides Toronto.

To those of you have some inside info, please like this post if there will be an LA club show at some point before the tour 😅.

Where do I queue up to grumble and groan about The Hives not being on the US tour??

I wanna see 'em so bad, have for years, and they seem to stay just out of reach. Ugh.

I wish we got to vote. Is there anyone who's happy about Smashing Pumpkins?

Pumpkins have some material I really dig, but they're just such a sore thumb on this bill. I'd prefer to have done like most others in my age bracket and seen them together as the bookends of Lollapalooza '94 (I was just barely too young to attend at the time). The math of how SP works in an East Bay sandwich between GD and Rancid makes no sense. But you put the Hives in that spot and it's a party.

I'm also still salty about the Hives booking such a tiny venue in my city, that almost no one gets to attend (<300 capacity). The collective disgust and disappointment of everyone in my city who also can't attend makes a nice salve for my own case of butthurt.

Well maybe I'm gonna need some friends on GDC to give me a spare room to sleep because I'm buying a ticket for Toronto, Boston, Philly and Chicago.
I'm going alone (yes my girlfriend is okay with it!) and it's in August where it's my month off work like every year.
