Green Day US summer stadium tour 2024 w/Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, Linda Linda's

Hi everyone! I am going to the show in Milwaukee this Saturday and I have a pit ticket. The venue says that the parking lots open at 2:30, with doors opening at 4. I will have to park at the ballpark/stadium lots since I am driving down to Milwaukee.

Does it make sense to try to get there early in the morning to try and get in line to try and get the best spot I can in the pit when parking lots don't open until 2:30? Just looking to see what others who have had pit tickets on this tour did when it came to getting to the stadium/venue so I can plan accordingly.

- I much prefer having a fan come up to sing instead of play guitar. That way they still get the fan interaction, but it takes up less time on stage.

I also feel it makes it more democratic... like, anyone can sing 5 lines of a song, but not everyone knows how to play guitar (I still wouldn't attempt to go on stage because I'm terrified of stage diving lol).

And while I completely agree with you regarding KFAD, there are people who seem to miss it. After the first concert I saw in this tour, the first thing that my sister asked me was if they were still playing KFAD and was really disappointed when I told her no. She used to be my Green Day concert companion back in the day (AI and 21CBD), and as a casual/forced Green Day listener, I think that bit was one of the highlights of the show for her. So I guess I can see why they've kept it for so long, just that yeah, I feel for most of us seeing them multiple times we are over it.

I would like KFAD back (and HAR), but have to say, I didn't miss it while I was there.  I did miss it at the 2021 shows.  Guess that just shows they need to keep playing 37 songs or lesser played songs. :)

And am always for getting rid of KYE.  Am very happy Knowledge and R&R are out.  Wastes of space when they could have been playing their own songs.

The only negative of these shows for me is no KFAD or HAR lol. Two full albums instead is very nice for a change but definitely hope they bring them back, along with not ripping through songs quite so fast and more crowd stuff/silly stuff.

It's hard to argue with how amazing the setlist is this tour, but I would love to see KFAD back. I know KYE is a staple because they bring people on stage to sing, but if they could swap it out for KFAD and bring back the mooning/thong, that would be amazing. :)

HAR?

@The Grohl it seems we are out numbered here 😅 I'd swap KYE and KFAD for almost any non-single song from any of their albums, and even for some of their older singles.

I think it's Hitchin' A Ride

100% agree with you! I'd switch those songs out for some trilogy songs! #BrutalLoveFTW

Yup, Hitchin a Ride.

I say switch KYE for Bang Bang.  It too was a successful single that would ramp people up.

Ooo yeah! That's one of my favorite moments from the NHL All Star game performance.

KYE out and EJN in

This. This is the right answer.

Brutal Love and Bang Bang are both good options. I'd take Peaceamaker over EJN though.

And duh, Hitchin a Ride, should have figured it out.

I was concerned when HAR first made an appearance on the setlist, but I’m glad we got Brain Stew instead.
That being said… I would love for BB or RevRad to make an appearance again.

I prefer Bang Bang to Know Your Enemy (although I actually love both), but I hope they don't get rid of Know Your Enemy because if they're going to bring a fan onstage, that takes up the least time and as Cristhyne said, it's the most democratic option since anyone can sing a few lines. Also, so many people hate Know Your Enemy that at least fans aren't ruining a song that everyone cares about? :P It was lovely when Billie let that bloke play Dilemma in Glasgow because it was so unexpected, but I'd much rather hear the band than fans most of the time.

I'm not fussed either way about King for a Day or Hitchin' a Ride. I've never hated them but I didn't miss them either.

As far as I'm concerned, they could switch literally anything in the setlist with Fell For You, Angel Blue, Rusty James, Stop When the Red Lights Flash, Wild One, Stray Heart, Wow! That's Loud, Brutal Love, Missing You, 8TH AVENUE SERENADE or X-Kid. I'd take anything from the trilogy. Or Suzie Chapstick or Meet Me on the Roof. Or Still Breathing or Forever Now again. And, I mean, if Green Day ever feel like covering The Longshot, I'd gladly take that too.

But at the end of the day I keep going to hear the exact same setlists and never complain, because why would I complain when they put on such a good show that four hours of King for a Day would probably entertain me? So whatever. 8th Avenue Serenade though.

They were playing Forever Now in the RevRad tour? 🥺

Having missed the Trilogy and RevRad tours completely, I must say that I'd be very partial to them playing Revolution Radio, Say Good Bye (although my gut tells me they probably weren't even playing this during that tour), Forever Now and Brutal Love. Oh, and Fancy Sauce? I get it, there would be riots if they didn't close with Good Riddance, but come on, that's a a very good closing song. Or swap it for Minority (but I do love Minority)... just put it somewhere in the setlist.

But yeah, I mean for this tour that we are getting Dookie and American Idiot in full, I cannot ask for more. They could be playing just NSYNC covers for the rest of show and I'd still be happy as a clam.

Yup, Forever Now during RevRad. It was great. But the last bit definitely felt long (albeit fun) cause it went from that to AI (with lots of Hey-Ohs, and then JoS. And then Ordinary World and Good Riddance).

I remember not hearing Good Riddance until the RevRad tour cause they didn't play it during the 99 Revolutions Tour stop in my city. I don't think they played it the first few stops/half the tour, with Brutal Love being the closer then.

Yup they closed with Brutal Love, which I wasn't mad about at all! 99 Revolutions was my first Green Day show and I so happy they swapped Good Riddance for Brutal Love. The trilogy got so much love on that tour, makes sense why, but it's a shame that those shows don't pop up in there setlist more often.

Forever Now on the RevRad tour was awesome! I try to avoid setlist spoilers when I go to shows, so I was certainly surprised when I heard those opening chords. It gave me goosebumps!

Don't even tempt me with *NSYNC covers! They could play a mean The Game is Over 😄

iirc, Forever Now was the closer during the RevRad days. It was amazing; I remember getting chills during the final solo at Wrigley!

Okay then, they could be playing Baby Shark for the rest of the show and I'd be happy as a clam 😂.

And I am bummed to have missed Brutal Love and Forever Now as closers 😢. But so they did swap Good Riddance here and there for something else. You'd think they could swap it for Fancy Sauce now 😅

I was browsing the seat maps for the future shows on Ticketmaster and I noticed the Atlanta show for august 28 has a ridiculous number of seats still available. Looks like the prices were dropped by a lot on floor seats but still curious to see how many of the seats actually sell.

Even tomorrow's show in Cincy seems to have a large number of unsold seats as well.

Just had my mind absolutely blown at The Linda Lindas drummer still being in middle school/about to be a freshman. That's INSANE.

Wow I heard they were teens but had no idea they were that young! They're 17, 14, 13 and 11, that's crazy.
