My first thought was of the zombies as mindless January 6th types, but then you have the "good guy" at the end shooting a non-zombie, so how good is he really? Lyrically, I think a lot of the current migrant situation in Chicago (and I'm sure NY, etc). The we are not home, are we not home part, and people who are anti-migrant (don't want no huddled masses), etc.

That would work with the line "Don't want your huddled masses", because that's a reference to the poem on the Statue of Liberty welcoming immigrants. Those who say they don't want huddled masses, TikTok and taxes would be the anti-immigrant right wingers.

¡Nunes!
mike using the G3 Gibson bass on comercial material (music video) possibly indicates the deal with Fender is gone or at least temporarily paused? btw I loved the fact he brought G3 back

That's the belief in the American Dream literally killing you. People working themselves to death for a decent life. I related to this idea like crazy and I think a lot of people listening will too. I recently got married and bought a house. We both have full-time salaried jobs and on paper we are living "The American Dream" but it is dang near impossible to thrive in the American economy as a working class person. All while trying to eat healthy, exercise, and maintain your mental health. The American Dream is killing me right now. When I heard the song and lyrics it definitely struck a chord with me and I think having lyrics and a music video open to interpretation will allow a lot of people to relate to it. This is a huge departure from lyrics that are flimsy, watered down, or otherwise make no sense (looking at you Fire Ready Aim among many others since the trilogy). Without being hyperbolic it really feels like Green Day is back. The song sounds like it's right in GD's groove without sounding like a retread of previous releases. Couldn't be happier😁

grinsoniko
I’m thinking LMNB is going to be a continuation of TADIKM video-wise, since they’re releasing it so soon after the other, they probably filmed it at the same time and the zombie theme? Idk just a thought.

I don't remember where I read this but I think it said he hasn't used it in the recording studio since Dookie. It's strictly a touring guitar now. Popular Post Ross_19
Love the song, it's so clear they're working with Rob again. This sounds like Green Day. Popular Post Gwen Stacy
Well unlike a lot of y'all I was a good egg and waited for the official release to give the song a proper listen in full and I'm glad I did. I did peep the lyrics from the secret show and listen to the teasers on the website so I wasn't completely shocked but I wasn't disappointed either. The instruments all have weight and presence, the lyrics have a deeper meaning to be scrutinized, and the arrangement is interesting (I love how effortlessly the strings integrate into the rest of the song). There's clearly an element of tongue in cheek writing going on with lines like "Goddamn I am so grateful, forever faithful to... / Cracked up into the wild, we're pedophiles for the American Dream is killing me" highlighting the absurdity of America being in love with the concept of The American DreamTM that is slowly killing us. Also of note is that I think this is the band's first Dolby Atmos release and on my surround system it sounds great! The throat clear in the bridge came right through the center channel and gave me a bit of a jump. Bonus points for that. Overall I think it's a great way to kick off the new era. This is how it's done. 8
Popular Post CherryBombs&Gasoline
Finally listened to the song earlier today. I wanted to wait for the studio version and it was absolutely worth it. This might be their best single since 2009 (and I love Bang Bang). It has everything that I love about this band. It’s damn catchy but not too simple. The lyrics aren’t shallow but right to the point. This is exactly the kind of sound that I wanted to hear from this band since probably 21st CBD (even though I really believe that RevRad is pretty underrated at this point). I have a great feeling about this new era. It’s just feels…sincere. And ambitious. I love it! The video is also great. Now, my two favorite bands have both made videos about a zombie apocalypse.

I'd be curious what else they have to offer on the album.
Little Boy Named Booze
With the 1981 writing in the music video I really believe it's gonna be a "story". I would not be surprised to see the girl again in another music video like 1981 or see how Green Day became zombiefied in Saviors 🧟♂️

When fantano was asked about American Idiot, the only complaint he could come with was with the political commentary even though only 2 tracks on the album have political commentary. Like if that's your main issue with AI, it must still be a pretty good album. It really just seems like he doesn't want to like any Green Day albums from the 00's onward
