I call bullshit, that’s just marketing. Green Day were the clear headliners of Hm too, they always played last. With four bands there’s still only so many hours in an evening to perform

Yes and no, set durations are gonna be very different here. I think FOB and Weezer played more or less as much as them, this is not gonna be the case. Hella Mega was three bands on the same label with the same management going on tour, it was a Crush festival, this looks like a Green Day stadium tour.
When the alternative is festival gigs, I prefer this.

Weezer had a shorter set. FOB and GD were the same. You think Smashing Pumpkins will have the same set time as Rancid? Not sure about that

Don’t think so as well, but I don’t think they’ll have Green Day set time either.

FOB wasn't at the Boston date so Weezer and the Interrupters had longer sets that night. Not sure about other HM stops

Im not a fan of smashing pumpkins nor Linda Linda’s, but I think rancid and pumpkins is an upgrade on Weezer and FOB 😂

thank Jesus h Christ blink 182 isn’t involved with the tour! 🤮

Pumpkins will have a longer set than rancid, for sure!

Whatever ends up being the case for the stadium tour - really holding out hope for a winter or spring run of club shows. The question is, is it worth it financially for the band to do a run of club shows if there’s not a larger entity (i.e. Smash magazine or Lollapalooza, as we’ve seen for the recent one-off club gigs) sponsoring the show and presumably paying the band a sizeable appearance fee?

on the other hand, is it reasonable to think that they’d just sit back on their heels and wait until the summer to play shows as hype is really building up for the new record?

I think if SP doesn’t have the same set time as GD it will only be a difference of 10 minutes or so. Regardless, my point is with four bands in one night no way Green Day can play for two hours or more. Those days are over. These shows are easier for them. They reach more fans at once with fewer shows, less stage time and they make hella mega bucks with the higher ticket price for four bands.

For sure!
Pumpkins just did an arena tour this summer, so are we thinking baseball stadiums like  hella mega 2.0?

damn!

And why couldn’t they just take ultra q instead! Haha

:sorry:

So US stadium tour. Seems like they‘re doing festivals at first in EU and go back in July/August for Stadoum tour. Smashing Pumpkins doing a tour in June in UK with Weezer

Where has this festivals in the EU come from?

the card last night said EU/UK is next, so after the US tour

They played solo shows in a lot of cities in Europe and they never got to a 2+ hours set. That’s about being 2023 and not 2004, they are not in their 30s and they are not Bruce Springsteen. Either this or them playing a 3 hours set sitting on stools, if we want the classic energetic Green Day concert, we cannot hope for for something longer then this.

Haven't seen anyone saying this but maybe this is the single version that we'll got on the 24 but the album version can be a bit longer, kinda like the single vs album version of 21cb

How many songs did Ultra Q play last night?

Whats weird is the flyer indicated that the Smashing Pumpkins are doing the UK and Ireland with Green Day in 2024 but Weezer also announced they are touring the UK and Ireland with the Smashing Pumpkins in 2024, in fact tickets for that went onsale this morning.

Unless the Smashing Pumpkins are doing two tours in 2024 then i think there is a mix up.

Anyone else getting “The Kids of America” vibes from the end of the bridge right before they kick into the chorus? I swear I had recognized it

I was thinking the same exact thing

Is it weird to feel kinda happy that the “1972” thread is dead ?

Yup next thread is gonna be the album name I guess.
I'm still wondering what the fuck was 1981 in Quebec. And if TADIKM is what 1972 was supposed to be.

I hope they don't wait much longer after the 24th to announce the tour. I need to plan this. 💃😊
