We now know 5 new songs (1981 not being a studio version yet) and we have 10 more to come. We have more than a FOAMF full lenght album to hear, its so good. lol

15 songs FTW!

And Fever on the Japanese release.

It’s kinda sad that Pink get referenced as the source for this, even by a music news website, when this chord progression first appeared in a song in 1961.

But Pink is a more contemporary example of it. It was also a huge hit for her so it's a better chance that it's going to be what people know and recognize.

I think they Hey-Ohs and Bada Bings are gonna be great live. I feel like those were the lines written for us to song along to and that’ll be really fun

The Hey-Ohs were definitely for us and the bada bings a thank you to James Gandolfini

This one is, so far, the most fun to play on guitar from Saviors.

It’s fun, but a GD drop-D song is irresistible, so it’s Dilemma for me. (Yes, I only have one finger)

So let me get this straight because this has been a hell of a rabbit hole.

Green day with One Eyed Bastard Ripped off Pink's "So What" which in itself ripped off Black Night.

So its a rip off of a rip off of a classic deep purple song.... Plagiarism is confusing qwp

Fair, but it takes 5 minutes of googling to know more and if it’s a music news website writing and not the average Facebook user, it’s sad that little research effort is not done.

No, deep purple were not the first ones to use it either.  it’s a classic rock chord progression that has been used for the first time in 1961, is not copyrighted, and since 1961 has been used in many songs. No one plagiarized no one.

This is the first recorded use of it, if I had to bet, I would say James Burton heard a blues musician playing something similar and took inspiration from it, as it usually happened with rock riffs.

When I initially heard the leak, I thought it sounded like a song that could have been on FOAM (although I think it’s better than most songs on that album). However, after having listened to the album version multiple times now, I’m starting to get strong RevRad vibes. The lyrics still remind me of FOAM, but musically, the song sounds a bit like Say Goodbye to me.

Listened to this quite a few times now(didn’t listen to leak more than once or twice) and this is the first song where I’m really hearing what they’ve been saying about this album being influenced by all there other records.  I’m hearing Misery, Youngblood, numerous angry, snarling Billie’s.  Will need to listen more to get all the references but it’s very cool.

In a statement, Armstrong said “One Eyed Bastard” began as just a riff, “a shuffle, almost like a Black Sabbath kind of riff.” He continued: “Lyrically, I was just reflecting on bad times in life. That’s the thing about nostalgia, sometimes you think, ‘That was an awful time.’ Everybody’s got that ugly place in their life where they have to deal with ugly thoughts — it could be like revenge or whatever. Thankfully, I have an outlet in songwriting.”

God I fucking love how chunky the bass on this is. And I could listen to the ending over and over again.

I mean it's OK, nothing very exciting. I like the heavy sound but the lyrics sound pretty lazy.

For me it's just okay, BUT I know it's going to be fucking awesome to hear live.
