I wanted to reach out to the smartest Green Day fans I've seen on the internet to let you know I chose to write about Green Day for Sonicbond's 'On Track' series and now the book, 'Green Day: Every Album, Every Song' is currently available on European websites like Amazon UK, World of Books, Browns Books, WHSmith, Wheelers, Burning Shed, etc. and will be available everywhere next month.  You can pre-order at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Thriftbooks, and so on.  Links to these sites can be found on my website https://willspevack.journoportfolio.com/ and check out other On Track books at https://www.sonicbondpublishing.co.uk/

The book runs through the entire catalog and briefly touches on side projects, solo albums, live albums, compilations, etc. just like many of the other 'On Track' books.  It's stuffed with a lot of fresh analysis and background info about the songs since I made sure to bring new thoughts to the Green Day table I've not seen anywhere else.   I think their work deserved a deep analysis - other artists have had song-by-song books.  Why not Green Day?

The 'On Track' series books are all the same length or I would have added another 50-75 pages that I had written since the band has such a long and storied career.

I've been a silent reader community member for some time now and just want to thank you all for making me realize that there are fans in the world who can appreciate this type of Green Day book.  If you have questions, comments I will address them when I come around - I love talking Green Day.  I also have the time to listen to you whine if you have complaints. LOL  Also, I'm posting daily about songs on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Green-Day-Every-Album-Every-Song-Book-100462463015591

Sorry, I missed this having posted about your book on another topic.

Further to my comments, I've started with 1000 Hours (EP). Your description of Billie Joe's feelings for the girl, added to the lyrics of the four tracks, lifts my connection with his thoughts, whilst listening to each song, to another level. Love it. 39/Smooth next......

The various book outlets listed plus Amazon  appear only listing it's availability as paperback.

The publisher has told me there will be an e-book edition later this year but not sure when exactly.  The paperback is great quality though and the photo section is glossy with great color if you don't want to wait.  Thanks for your interest, been following your posts and everyone's here for quite some time now my fellow Green Day fan.

Thanks for the book support.  It's funny the publisher started Sonicbond a few years ago and they're a UK company hence their European distribution being made a priority before it hits the rest of the world.  They started a few years ago and you can tell they were into UK artists, and had love for both 1970s classic rock and progressive rock.

They only have a few artists from 1990 and beyond so that was when I pitched Green Day and it was a go.  They're too famous for 3 decades now around the world to deny let's face it.  I guessed there might be significant downtime for the band, so it was a suitable time to sum up their catalog.  Unfortunately, because of the Nimrod box delay, we ran out of time to include the previously unreleased material from that box.

I had so much more written too on these early EPs and albums, but yeah, you'll notice the songwriting patterns and how they grow the sound - it's a band worth exploring deeply because they never settled too long musically balancing power and smart dynamics, and Armstrong got better with every release as a lyricist - just more and more clever during the 1990s into the 2000s and he was always resonant.

It's no longer "every album, every song"... with 1972 coming out eventually.

Nah, it's still 'Every Album, Every Song', might as well grab a copy while the title still holds up and you're in the waiting room!  Green Day take a long time releasing albums this century, I don't see this gap being any different.  4 years for American Idiot, 5 years for 21st Century Breakdown, 4 years for the Trilogy, 3 for Revolution Radio, 4 for Father Of All.
