My dad passed away three days ago after a battle with cancer and I’ve  been put in charge of trying to make playlist of songs for the luncheon and we scatter his ashes. The playlist is eclectic so far is eclectic with his faves (50s songs such as Beep Beep by The Playmates to anything by the Offspring. To then fam added Faith Hill and Flogging Molly) and I’m thinking Wake Me Up When September Ends or Good Riddance but have been wondering if there are more cause those seem almost too on the nose to me.

So sorry to hear this, losing your dad is so hard to get over.  If he was a big music fan then I would say either of those, keep it a great mix.

I'm so, so sorry. I lost my dad last year too, it's so damn hard. I feel you. I listened to "No One Knows" a lot, I think it could be a wonderful choice too. Maybe the lyrics not so much, but the overall atmosphere. The beautiful intro, the harmonies... 💔

Sorry for your loss :(

I would just go with his favorite tunes because it seems like he loved music in general

I think WMUWSE would be appropriate.

Just know that that song will never be the same again for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a dad is hard and  as someone said whatever you play will always remind you of that day, in both a good and bad way. My dad’s been gone a long time and there’s one song I still find hard to listen to.  But you might find it comforting. Do what will work for you and your memories.

It really depends on how you feel about the person the funeral is for really...    Be honest with your feelings.

Last Ride In  would be good if there are no words to describe how you feel.
