I think every show with that amount of light shows, videos shows and synced pyro needs to be scripted. And that's why they can't simply change their setlists for the last shows of this year, because they would have to change light/video/pyro as well and that's not worth it for 2 or 3 shows

Is it true it’s not possible to stream this in Brazil anymore? (Allegedly due to censorship. I heard that from someone and I find it a bit hard to believe)

They threw in audibles in Europe so that’s not strictly true. Those minor additions just wouldn’t get the fancy light treatment or pyro but they can still play them. They wouldn’t make major changes or it would be noticeable but add a song or two yeah they’ve done that this tour.

It's actually just copyrights claim. Globo has its own streaming service so officially all videos from the festival are published there, but their blocking ability on Youtube is limited to Brazil

i think for the "dookie-in-full" setlist shows back in ?2013? they did their main set and just had a simple dookie banner for the 30/40minutes when they played dookie

its still possible but i agree, all these hellamega shows seemed very "scripted" (lights/visuals etc)

This was on a reddit thread, but what about what he is saying?

I'm wondering, in conjunction with this flag thing, is there a situation in Brazil where musicians are restricted from giving out political messages?

As @okotavio said, it's blocked due to copyright claims. Globo owns the rights of videos from Rock in Rio in Brazil and they'll be published later on their own streaming platform (Globoplay). This is basically what it says on YouTube.

Brazilian political situation is bad but it's not that bad (yet). There's no censorship and artists are free to make political manifestations. In fact, many did during Rock in Rio. Crowd are also free. Before BOBD you can hear the crowd yelling against the president - something like "hey, Bolsonaro, go fuck yourself".

As to why the streaming didn't show the flag clearly, it's all speculation. As I said, many artists did political manifestations on stage and it was shown on the stream.

Let’s talk about Billies leather waistcoat. We all love the shit outta this guy, but I can’t be the only one thinking he looks way better in his casuals than the recent stage ‘outfits’ that he’s been wearing.

The waist coat is gross, it’s a shame because he’s a good looking man and off stage when he’s wearing band shirts and regular stuff, he looks younger and healthier. Whoever is dressing our guy for stage needs the sack.

I don’t specifically hate the waistcoat but I agree in general. I think his wardrobe and hair & makeup people struggle to reconcile trying to keep up with the signature look and the fact that he looks different so he needs different stuff to look good.

I actually dig it the waistcoat, I think it looks way better than the RevRad jacket he started wearing mid-tour on Still Breathing/Forever Now

Outfit-wise I just dislike it when he adds extra random stuff like the white flower he had at Outside Lands :P

Okay look I’m getting a side gig as a celebrity stylist :P

- the low rise skinny jeans need to go. He has a much more balanced look to his figure in wider leg pants, like these:

fb1a7106616014b8f1124a06a884e55976b46776
- shirts: they’re a signature part of his stage look and as much as I love seeing him in more casual t shirts, there’s just something so neat to it. You know, you go to a rock show and there he is in his business casual. Just choose ones that aren’t too baggy. Patterned and colors look very good on him.

- vests: very conflicted on this. they make him look like frodo but it’s kinda cute. Not a look I would prefer, but it’s nice sometimes.

- suits and jackets: not much i would change. I’d be careful with outfits that sometimes make him look like a little boy dressed up for a family event (RHOF was like that and it was absolutely iconic, but it gets out of hand very easily eg new years eve 2020 with that bowtie, wtf was that)

-hair & makeup: well done on slowly moving on from black dye, i’d stop straightening to compensate for less volume. I’d go more lightly on the makeup, get a different shade and blend  the foundation better - I could see where the mua (he himself?) stopped from meters away and it looked too light for his skin tone.

-cosmetic stuff: mostly quite tasteful. I’d keep it as subtle as possible and be very careful to not overdo it especially since he’s prone to getting a little chubby/puffy in the face

See, while I thought that was a very nice reddish suit, I thought the trousers were awful on him,  I would say stick with black jeans but I love it when he mixes up the shirts.  I like the grey at his temples, I’d be happy if he kept that.

Oh yeah, the red pants are controversial but imo a step in the right direction. black jeans are fine. It’s the skinny part that I’d move on from. It makes his tummy pop out way more than regular fit pants do.

Agree that a more casual look is better. Things I’m not a fan of: long sleeved black button downs (boring!), vests (not casual enough), jackets (too restrictive). I agree the skinny jeans should go, they no longer flatter him and they’re out of style anyway. He could do a straight leg black jean that would look better on him if he insists on jeans, though I liked the trousers too.  I really love him in colors, black trousers and brightly colored button downs would look amazing, very much like the Superbowl soundcheck look posted above. The Chuck hi-tops and striped pants were a great look with that red billowy shirt.

And a more natural color and texture for his hair would be best too. Time to put the American Idiot look to rest and that’s okay.  I don’t even object to the grey on the temples it looks nice.

I loved the Superbowl wider red pants look.  I'm all for that look going forward (plus it was one of the last shows without the undershirt, so if we could go back to that, great).  And I liked that he did regular Converse rather than the all black ones that he always wears on stage.

Hair, keep black, or try brown, but I don't like the grey.

this shirt and cap looks great, as do the pants. Here’s what I’d do if I was him.

More band shirts onstage. You look so great in a casual band T-shirt. Promote the artists that you love and look upto, new artists also.

Other cool tees are the Oakland shirt he wore at the Oakland arena show in Cuatro. Simple vintage sports related T-shirts. Striped t-shirts always look really nice on you!

A vest underneath a cool shirt, with a revere/ Cuban collar. It looks classy, cool, relaxed but best of all, it looks rock and roll. It suits your age.

Pants. I agree that the skinny low rise black jeans don’t look cool anymore. He looks so great in what people call ‘chinos’ or ‘work’ pants. The way they fit him, see the photo below, they look so cool and flattering. At least he realises they should always be cropped / ankle height. Nothing worse than the bottom of pants, hanging over the back heel. Gross. I’d also keep the colours neutral on the pants. Black is cool,  or dark blue.

Shoes. Converse all stars chuck Taylor’s are timeless, they always look cool.

Jackets. There’s photos of him soundchecking, wearing cool bomber jackets and varsity jackets. Denim jackets always look nice on you too. The biker leather jacket is a nice look but I’ve yet to see him in one that fits the way it should (Ramones style. Sitting on the waist, nice and tight).

Caps. If you’re gonna wear a hat, rock that badass baker-boy hat that you wore a few times in the American idiot era.

Billie, we think you’re the coolest guy going, always have, always will. Just sack the wardrobe decision maker :)

I dunno I think the tailored pants look too formal on Billie (any kind - the red or the striped above) although to be fair I'm there to listen to Billie sing not to see what he's wearing

I’d say it’s important. The setlists don’t change much, at least change the trousers!

No joke. His frequent wardrobe changes were the most exciting things about HM Europe 😂

Yes! I got such a kick out of the tshirt at my show. I seriously had to do a double take at that boy who showed up by the rack to grab a guitar at the beginning.

As fans we can be a demanding bunch but also it’s the simple things that can make us so happy. A t-shirt and this forum exploded 🤯 Never thought I’d see the day again

I just love short sleeves on him, his arms are a work of art and so muscular in a a natural way, straying into wrong thread territory I know, but long sleeves should be outlawed for Billie Joe.
