Billie Joe Armstrong don't renounce your citizenship! Become the United States President instead!

Has it always been this way where people suggest a certain celebrity should be President just because those people agree with some views the celebrity has? Or has that just started after the Trump era?

Regardless, no

Nah, here in the US it's recommended to complain about political issues yet not do anything to help correct them.

I think that‘s a world wide problem.

Good lord, he would hate that! He's already said before that he would never want to be president and I don't blame him.

Cannot see how he would be intrested.

It's strange to me when celebrities run for president, governor etc. Is that even a thing in other countries than the US?

A problem with an individualist society is that mostly everyone is looking out for themselves and rather bounce than stay and fix things. I've said it before, but when you're as rich as Billie, you're a citizen of the world, not of the US. Might be easy for him to do nothing to help and bail on the US, but not so easy for the poor or middle class who have to simply stay and endure. His desire to leave is valid, but also a privileged desire that most people can't even consider.

This is the same guy who wished death upon Steve Jobs, but has probably owned every iPhone model since 2010
