Yes but they are doing cool marketing and don’t need to reveal the whole song.

If you think what they’ve released so far is giving away the full song or even if they release another snippet of the same length I’d have to disagree.

Nope - some other song Amazon chose to use for god knows what reason

I mean it's for sure not TADIKM but couldn't it be another new song from the album?

Another note; I’m loving how the vibe of this track seems like it’s going to lean more into the protest sound with the marching drums, call to action lyrics, and easy to sing along with melodies. Reminds me of all of the things I love about “Minority” 😁

Yeah and east Jesus nowhere

Production-wise it does sound amazing, but I didn’t get excited with the last two teasers as much as I did with the one with the guitar intro ☹️

I was expecting something at least a little more fast paced but that’s 100% on me

I'm willing to bet it's gonna be like est Jesus nowhere second verse will be different from the first I like it sounds like green day

Do you guys think they’ll play the entire new album tomorrow night?

Idk how credible the British paper the sun is but they say new album will be released in January and a major stadium tour announcement is coming soon

‘The modern twist’ could be the exact thing that Green Day needs to make this album their best since 21CB  - IF THEY DO IT RIGHT !!

No cringey billboards or taglines please.

An album with hints of AI, 21CB and RevRad plus something new to the production that isn’t too cliche and poppy, I hope is what this album will be.

So far, it’s very promising. I really like the dark spooky vibes, I think that this aesthetic can really suit the band and give us something that we really haven’t seen before from them.

Also an album closer like ‘Whatsername’ would be perfect

Handclaps lots of handclaps lol

I miss deep AI Billie vocals.

Well with new ai technology you can change his vocals to the register and tone you prefer lol

Idk if hand claps are going to be completely absent from this album but they're for sure gonna be much less frequent at least compared to FOAMF or even The Longshot. And I don't say that because of the huge amount of complaints people have had with the hand claps. I say it with confidence because the band generally doesn't use them a lot on these AI/21CB-esque albums. AI only had some hand claps on She's A Rebel and Extraordinary Girl and it's not even that noticeable on these tracks. 21CB only had them on East Jesus Nowhere. RevRad had a few of them but not on any of the more political or more AI/21CB-esque tracks. Even the trilogy I'm pretty sure they were only included on Troublemaker and Lazy Bones. It's obvious that the band tends to use them more on tracks that are more Foxboro/Longshot inspired

I hope there's actual ballads on this one the post of Billie with an orchestra earlier this year gave me high hopes for another brutal love,  last night on earth, 21 guns, the forgotten, outlaws,

I don't like hearing East Jesus Nowhere comparisons, but go on and do you.   Yuck.

Teaser #1 + Teaser #3 + Teaser #2 in that order it's an amazing experience.

This is the first one to get me properly excited since we first heard the snippet in the waking up video! The vocals sound so much cleaner than FOAM and RevRad, double tracking yeah but there's some real character here and IMO the guys are at their best when they do this proper serious political commentary under the guise of pop songs (fight me)

It sounds good. Currently my only desire is that the new songs are played heavily in live shows. That 2022 show is still a hard pill to me.

Not sure where you were in 09 but GD played 21cb in whole in 09. I was able to get some clips at the time so I heard quite a bit of the album before it came out.

Then they legally leaked it a week prior and honestly I was even more hyped.

Those early live versions were great to hear how some of the songs were put together but when we finally got to the real recorded versions it really brought those arrangements to life. It would be cool to go through this again.

I love Jakob as a person. I love the music he makes and his influences.

I just hope people dont try and slam him and saying he’s riding off his dad and shit. He’s a good dude and just wants to play his music. You can see he does have integrity. And so what he’s playing a show with his father? Theyre both rock stars! What would Wolfie do?

I never liked Joey’s handling of the GD thing. Billie was a producer of his albums early on and a backer of his band. His whole thing was “We know who my dad is let’s not talk about it”. It’s an easy answer dude, we grew up with those records and were affiliated with the east bay scene. I grew up with music around me and I’m thankful for that. I’m happy to have the opportunity to now share what I do with the world.

So true about Jakob. I was a bit worried about that. He's not afraid to talk about Billie Joe and he handles it with such grace, but he is very much his own person and is just as talented as his dad. He deserves to be successful under his own name. He already gets asked about his dad all the time. I'm glad that this will get them more exposure, and this is very exciting for me because they're my two favorite bands (even though I can't be there and it physically pains me), but I just hope that people will see Ultra Q outside of the shadow of Green Day. Frankly, I was a bit surprised to see that Ultra Q are opening for Green Day tomorrow. I wouldn't have thought that they would play with them past their Mt. Eddy days. Their fall tour being cancelled was a pretty big loss for them. They just want to play shows so badly.

I talked more about this in the Jakob thread, but I've gotten to know Ultra Q over the past 4 years, and I have an endless amount of praise for them. I am being so serious when I say that they are the nicest group of guys I have ever met in my entire life. They are truly such special people. They are so incredibly down to earth and humble, and not to mention outrageously talented. These guys seriously deserve the world. Their energy is infectious. Even if you just talk to them for 5 minutes, you can tell how much they truly love making and performing music.

It's seriously crazy how Jakob and Joey came from the same household. To say that they're polar opposites doesn't even do it justice. I like to tell people to compare them to Chet and Colin Hanks, and then multiply it by 10. And on top of that, Jakob has more talent in a single strand of hair than all of SWMRS combined. I really don't think people give Ultra Q enough credit, even within the Green Day community. Nobody else is doing anything close to what these guys are doing. They truly are one of a kind, both as musicians and people.
