I’m in the minority who likes Pacific Daydream, but in any event, check out Bethany Cosentino’s (Best Coast) recent album Natural Disaster. Butch produced the entire thing (minus the last track) and played most, if not all, of the instruments and it sounds BEAUTIFUL. So I don’t think blame for FOAM should be placed fully at his feet.

I also like Pacific Daydream it gives me such good summervibes and Happy Hour is one of my favs from Weezer love this song . But productionwise I dont like the whole record

Lol I tried to listen to foam again yesterday on YouTube,  it's crazy how bad it is yet fans in the lyric videos were like now this is green day! I was stunned,  I replied no it's really not lol one person on the video for junkies on a high said "it's like green day and imagine dragons made a song together" freaking awesome! I'm gonna assume this person was battling covid and the fever was getting to him.

https://youtu.be/O0mXVKhZPws?si=6WEM10C_c35ukAGu This proves graffitia is a good song when you take away all the layers of shit butch walker covered it with

thanks, like that version. Also, this acoustic version from Welcome to my Panic.

Green Day are going to successfully record Pink Floyd's Household Objects album and it's going suuuuuuuuuck.

Sorry.   Wild speculation.

I listened to FOAM again recently and also noticed lots of random background noises like chirps and such. Butch did that on Weezer’s Pacific Daydream too. So weird. That’s his trademark I guess.

Man he fkd pacific daydream all to hell! and there's decent songs,  but he mixed it like a 12 year old would awful echo effects on rivers voice the songs sound Frankensteined together lots of unnecessary sound effects like on weekend woman the ch ch ahh idk wtf he was thinking with that.

Just ordered the drip  Heathered black American idiot t shirt off Amazon.  definitely gonna fit well with my light grey burnout, and revolution radio, and skull and bones, t which I'm wearing  now I  purchased at the first "hella mega tour" in July of 2021 sidenote, caught covid after attending lol one month of pure hell but I guess it was worth it

People criticise Weezer albums from the 00's a lot, and don't get me wrong they do deserve criticism (except I think Maladroit is genuinely a pretty great album). But at least that era was interesting for Weezer. Make Believe and Raditude may be shit but at least there's something to say about the songs on these albums. Weezer from 2017 onwards has just been so god damn boring to me. Ik a lot of people love OK Human but I listened to the album and was bored. Maybe I'll give it another chance just because so many consider it top tier Weezer but god damn Pacific Daydream & Black are so boring and I didn't care for their SZNZ EPs either

EWBAITE from 2014 got me back into them after a LONG hiatus. I like everything to varying degrees they’ve put out since with the exception of Black and Teal.

And I think the most underrated album they’ve put out in that time period is Van Weezer. Banger after banger on that one to me.

EWBAITE and White were the last great Weezer albums imo and they've not got close since then imo

So...based on what you may or may not know for no reason whatsoever...better than Van Weezer, in your opinion?

Okay, I have to throw my Weezer hot take in the ring.   All their albums are great EXCEPT:  Maladriot, Pacific and Black.   Those make my ears bleed, but I will defend Ratitude and Red and all the other ones as perfect masterpieces.

Back to 1972 Dreams or whatever it's called.   Well, actually not back to it.   Are we getting a Christmas album?  I feel like now would be a good time for that dirty Christmas Polka concept jazz album we all know they have.    With Rick Astley singing lead on a half the songs.

Van Weezer was the best Weezer record I've heard in a long time honestly.

What band are you in?

Can someone ask me what band I’m in so I can have a reason to plug my band on the 1972 thread too?

I like make believe it's just a little too ballad heavy, I think it's one of rivers strongest vocal performances. on an album,  'haunt you everyday' with two guitar solos, 'this is such a pity' pretty awesome synths, like the arrangement on 'hold me' soft verses leading into the loud chorus rivers and brian with the duel guitars harmonizing, really the only songs I truly hate are 'my best friend' 'we are all on drugs'  maybe 'freak me out' as well

Do you guys think we’ll get any more teasers with studio clips before the 24th?

Sure probably like the day before the release I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it leaked early I think people had to sign docs, but never understatement the determination of a leaker, I wouldn't be surprised if someone stuck a recording device in their bunghole the other night lol

Man those dudes still put on a great live show, I saw them here in Oklahoma, back in May rivers cuomo was very personable really fired up the crowd, they're coming back in Dec I'm thinking about going but  I would like a different setlist 'Christmas song' would be awesome 'dark enough to see the stars' as well

Kind of crazy that such off topics are brought up, knowing that there are fans out there who have already heard new Green Day music before all of us. Where are the anonymous leaks?

Dude is the actual album coming out the 24th?

I know the single, perhaps video, but if there's been leaked info stating the new album is coming  sooner than expected that would be news to me
