RevRad is a good/decent record, BUT... it has no new ideas, no experimentation, no risks, etc. Even some songs are kind of "new versions of" (Ordinary World/Good Riddance, Say Goodbye/Holiday or East Jesus Nowhere, etc). I could think "Troubled Times" could be something "different" in its sound/melody.

In a few words: No risks, no fun.

They did take the risks, but Andy Scheps reverse them to make the songs more radio friendly. The bow guitar was there, but only with the stems leaked I could notice where it was. That and the trumpet that Ronnie Blake recorded

For foam lyrics, I always loved them. This account is stan for IWATT. That song makes me weep a little every time I listen to it. Sometimes simplicity can communicate a lot and that songs does to me.

Not to mention they are always looking for pushing their boundaries as artists. That's why I keep following them.

Yeah, the trumpet is heavily processed. Is at the end of Bouncing off the wall

For the stems, they used to be around in the downloads section. I don't know if they are still there

Although when you listen closely to Bouncing Off the Wall, when you notice the trumpet, it’ll stick out like a sore thumb. And the bow guitar can easily be heard throughout Outlaws

Nice #americandream too.
It was at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood.

#americandream preceeded by #album

New album name confirmed

Honestly, I feel like revrad was exactly the album they needed to make at the time, even if there's some stuff that's rough around the edges.  It's what they needed to do after rehab and the trilogy, 3 longtime friends getting back together in a studio without a label or producer pressuring them. I like how reflective the lyrics were, I'd much rather have lyrics like that instead of party songs. I feel like foam was definitely a misstep

Agree foam was a bad idea I honestly can't stand that era the music,  billie running around singing without a guitar the whole thing just seemed lazy

You'd prefer him to be holding a guitar regardless of whether he uses it or not? Jason's always doing the lead guitar when they play live anyway

I believe billie plays bow guitar on the new album there's a pic on their Instagram with him holding one I think it was from earlier this year

That wasn’t on a guitar it looked like he was playing with someone’s cello they had an orchestra in the studio

Not sure the hashtag confirms it’s the album title but that sounds like a Green Day album title. Could also be the single title or maybe the lead single shares the name of the album.

If the Album is called American dream, theres almost no way it's not in any way a Sequel to American Idiot

I will stick every studio album they have made in a blender and drink it if it’s a sequel to American idiot. They would and will never do this

Why not? What is the problem with that?

Maybe they were writing 1972 when inspiration from above struck, giving a plausible idea for a sequel to American Idiot.

And they decided to shoot all cylinders into the sun, the stars and have a blast.

American Idiot Part 2!!!!!!

Sequel or not I’m just excited that it seems like we’re going to have the band tap back into directly talking about politics, discontent, etc. In the songs.

I know rev rad and even FOAMF had politically charged lyrics but Billie in interviews said they wanted to stay away from writing directly about Trump/politics.

From what we’ve seen/know it sounds like our boys are back in the saddle
