Like nothing we've ever heard before, but still sounding like Green Day.   THAT is what we should want.

Any album covers floating around that you guys have seen?

It appears those selected for tomorrow have been notified and, alas, I was not picked.

We gotta be cautious tomorrow night for spoilers, from anyone who stupidly decides to leak what's going on

RevRad is a good/decent record, BUT... it has no new ideas, no experimentation, no risks, etc. Even some songs are kind of "new versions of" (Ordinary World/Good Riddance, Say Goodbye/Holiday or East Jesus Nowhere, etc). I could think "Troubled Times" could be something "different" in its sound/melody.

In a few words: No risks, no fun.

Could one also say it sounds “stock”? (Like Lars said in some kind of monster)

I think a realistic expectation of a Green Day album now is at least 1-2 good to great songs. We can hope for another pre-Trilogy level record, but just being realistic. I think Green Day is capable of the 1-2 great song model. Evidence:

UNO: Stay the Night, Oh Love, Nuclear Family

DOS: Lazy Bones, Wow! That’s Loud

TRE: Brutal Love, Missing You, 8th Avenue Serenade

Revrad: Bang Bang, Somewhere Now

FOAM: Honestly I don’t know. A lot of okay songs, which is why people hate it so much.

Hoping for more but if they can add 2 great songs to their long list of hits, I think people will look at the album positively.

I’m gunna need to add Dirty Rotten Bastards to Trè.

AI was massive though so there were definitely more security risks at that time but they did sign for people at that time. They did a dedicated signing event at HMV in Toronto when AI came out. Something they no longer do.

Even when we were (completely by accident) staying in the same hotel as the guys on the Trilogy Tour and I met Tre he was surrounded by security and no photos allowed!

We were at the same hotel once on the 21CB tour. The big three were being bought in the back entrance so no one could get to them but some of the techs a d family were just wandering around. I got in the elevator with some guys holding setlists and when they saw my GD t-shirt they hid them

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there a signing at Hot Topic for RevRad and someone proposed in front of the guys?

They should've saved  back in the usa for revolution radio would've gave it more energy but I like outlaws and somewhere now though.

I actually think revolution radio was about 4 years before it's time it would've fit in perfectly with the mass hysteria of 2020

American Idiot may be one of Green day's best album..

But I'm telling you guys, Nimrod pumps American Idiot  by a 100 times.

It got everything you need.Angry, Fun, polka, folk and whatnot shits.

Nimrod is the definition of Green Day. Period

Redundant is a killer song wish they would play live more often

Naw would rather have an back to basics album they tried straying away from their signature sound with foam dabbling into Indi pop territory and it wasn't good they need something more familiar

Honestly think SYITH might be my favourite track on FOAMF

I think that Foxboro sound is great when it's done right. Stop Drop and Roll was absolutely done right, that's probably my 4th favourite GD related album. Dos is probably my favourite trilogy album despite its problems. And SYITH is an improvement on Fuck Time and I don't understand why I see so many people point to it as one of the album's weak points. Yes, it's not very original but it honestly just sounds pretty great to me and on an album like FOAMF, I'm happy enough with that

I'm just tired of them writing a song in that particular style. Like, it doesn't sound unique or refreshing to me. I can get behind a song like Sugar Youth, but I'm sort of over that 50s/60s riff they love to use.

I don't think "Sweet (American) Dream is the title of the album. Isn't a Green Day thing. They never mixes fonts to name albums. It's how they work. It's just one font for the album title. Like a logo, a brand. S(A)D probably will be a single

Let's write some lyrics:

Party at the end of time

Last dime's broke again and she's my last friend (time)

Working for the stiffs instead of writing riffs / everybody wants Dookie so I'm gonna give em shit (teenage teenager)

Let's all rage and love each other tight / i'd rather be born again than to give up the fight (one)
