I'm going tomorrow — excited! Simple Plan is honestly a really great live band if y'all haven't seen them.

It's really funny to see Green Day fans shitting on other bands because outside of our hardcore fandom, Green Day isn't really all that popular anymore and FOAM was rather embarrassing.

I mean I love 'em, but no need to be elitist.

I was hoping I'd meet some people at the Charlotte, NC show, but at least the crowd was really positive and chill.   Sum 41 got the pit going insane but everyone was okay.

I'd definitely like to meet some GDC folks one day.

As far as Canadian bands go, Propagandhi > Sum 41. And I like Sum 41 a lot.

Their first album is a classic for sure. Never got into much of their stuff after that.

DOA, Dayglo Abortions, Forgotten Rebels are a few more classic punk to add to the Canadian list

Of course I'm taking Sum and Billy Talent before Simple Plan.
But SP is still a really good band I don't know why people are shitting on them.

To be honest I just found them to be too corny for my tastes. Maybe a bit too whiny for my style.

I dont dislike them as people or hate them that much as a band. Im just not a fan and as a musician they never really influenced me the way other bands like Green Day have.

Definitely like Treble Charger's music but shit's probably gonna come out about their lead singer... he's got a very dark history.

Remember the times when green day used to destroy their stage after every show?

Also Billie used to throw away his guitar after the finale song too

I actually had no idea about that. Is this in the same vein as that dude from Hedley?

"We're gonna live the truth and pretend that it's okay!"

I have a feeling this album is going to have heartfelt meaningful lyrics!!!

I can't believe Labor Day Weekend is already next week!!! Do you guys think we'll get Album 14 news before Dookie comes out or will they wait until October?

I think Dookie 30 comes out and probably a single mid October or November. Not loving the idea of a winter GD record. Would prefer any other season.

Nothing other than Dookie 30 things will happen until at least a few weeks after Dookie 30 is released.

Yeah I could see them put out the single on either October 13th or October 20th

If we're debating openers for the inevitable tour, I thought Sweet Children did a solid job opening for Green Day in 2015.

So I was watching the 1981 clip again and I think I figured out the lyrics

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's throwing punches to the beat

To the sound of cable TV

And she'll never see the world the same

She is a whore in my head

And I am losing then

All the changes I don't want no more

Coffee and cyanide for lovers in the state

If this is not a choice

You're gonna wanna leave the craze

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

Crime following the time

Part of our new lives

God bless the end of time

Pain, violence, and cocaine

She's gonna live the guilty way

We're gonna live the truth

And pretend that it's okay

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

She's gonna bang her head like 1981

Verse 1:
She's throwing punches to the beat
To the sound of cable TV
And she'll never see the world the same
She is a Cold War in my head
And I am [?]
On the danger side of hearts, oh no

Pre-Chorus
Coffee and cyanide for lovers in the [?] (it’s either the state or disdain)
If this is not a choice
We got one foot in the grave

Bridge

Crime following the signs
Part of our new lives
God-bless the end of time
Pain violence and cocaine
[?] from acid rain
We’re gonna live the truth
And pretend that it’s okay

that’s the best I can do

1 year, 8 months and 18 days go we began to hear talks of ALBUM 14, or maybe an EP.    2023 has been pretty awful in terms of Rock releases.   Fall Out Boy has the only perfect album of the year and wow, I never thought I'd say THAT.

Will Green Day and Offspring make 2024 fantastic?   Or will they both leave us waiting a lifetime for this.  Moment to come.  I'm destined.   To post a lot of stuuuuuuffff.

DOWNTOWN.
