I mean I like blink and their friends, but tbh? I think Tom sounds horrible live and I‘m not really into their latest single. But thats for another thread. 
I have a feeling they take their time for the new album no matter what other bands do. For me with FOAM it seemed like they wanted to put something out just to go on tour with Weezer and FOB. Yes FOAM wasn‘t THAT bad but not great for Green Day Standard and I think they recognized it even though Billie Joe always tells us they‘re doing music for themselves. They probably heard the opinion from most fans about FOAM and thats maybe the reason they didn‘t play any song during HM (but still didn‘t understand why they ignored RevRad last year). I‘m looking forward what the subjects are on the upcoming album lyrically

I didn't find 1972 at my local record store, but I didn't ask either.  

They did have the Nimrod silver box set, God's Favorite Band and Dookie on vinyl.   On CD, they had Insomniac and the box set.  

And yes, believe everything you read about 1972.

So far, I haven't seen Mike Dirnt read this post.  Tre Cool scrolled by it and didn't react but Billie...I'm worried. I think he's considering not releasing the album because of this...🤦‍♂️

Green Day are waiting all the other bands to retire to have all the attention when they release the new single and announce the new album. They need the perfect window for the release without any other distractions

I honestly don't know what Green day is waiting for. From what we've gathered, the album is pretty much done it just needs final mixing which has been going on for a few months already. Not sure if they are trying to cue up the single, album, and tour announcement all at once (per littlebooze's intel). Perhaps they are finalizing concert dates with various venues across the US? I don't know how much longer I can wait for an announcement...this has been dragging out way too long but I sure hope it's worth the wait!

I wonder if they have done the photo shoots, album cover design, and the music video shoots yet. And honestly this isn’t the first time they took this long to finish an album. RevRad was started in 2014 and was released in October 2016. And if you combine C&V and American Idiot, those sessions started in 2002 and the album came out in September 2004!!! The only difference here is that they started teasing way too soon!!!

They clearly changed their plans and the teasing was probably for the previous plan. All we can hope for is booze to be right.

They should have done photoshoots but its hard to keep it secret especially during social media leaks or something.

Linkin Park did the photoshoots for Meteora over 4 months before its release. I dont know how long they started shooting for FOAM and Meteora is 20 years ago now and I think they didn‘t have that time during FOAM because they started promoting Hella Mega which why it took so long to release the album even it was already done.

Yeah someone said they‘re in the final stages but the pics from Rob and Chris with some band members seem like they‘re not ready or done with the whole produciton. 
The shows should be already booked (if there‘s really an Arena Tour) and wait for the announcement as a package to release with album announcement. 
I wonder why we all dont have any clue like the previous records
