What does that have to do with anything?

Nothing. It's a joke because before FOAM we were talking about the solstice summer.

That and "Green Day is the focus of the summer!"

I don't think this is GD's final album. However I strongly believe this will be their best since AI. Although times have changed and although its not so important, this brilliant new album will bring them at least a grammy nomination too. Watching the teasers once again I truly have a feeling that it will be one of the best and most loved in their discography.

I'm not expecting the album to be at the quality of AI or 21CB or Dookie

Even if the album surpasses my expectations and is way better than I expected, I'm not expecting it to be a top 3 Green Day album. I'll be happy to be proven wrong but I would NOT get my hopes that high for this album

So maybe an album after death but before burial? Lol. I know the situation with Linkin Park is strange.  They won't do anything, but they won't break up officially. There is complete radio silence from the guys except for Shinoda, who is active in peddling Link Park merch.   I don't know if that's good or bad.  It's rough to think about Mike and Tre doing that one day.

Are Green Day breaking up?  I don't think so.  I think as time goes by, they may have longer gaps between albums as older bands do.  But I think we will have at least 19 albums by the guys.

Yes and no. The band mostly do much interviews for Meteora. The only person who‘s missing is Rob. He said in an interview they tried things in the Studio but can‘t stop thinking about Chester when he‘s doing stuf in the studio. I think that‘s the reason why he‘s never doing interviews with the band. For me personally I love Linkin Park and I can understand they don‘t want to quit officially. Maybe one day they‘ll do a final tour. But for now I‘m fine with unreleases live shows they put out.

For Green Day: I think the reason they take their time is just to release records they can be proud of and don‘t wanna rush. They just love playing shows and wouldn‘t just do it only for money reasons and thats what you see when they walk on stage. I don‘t compare their releases with previous records. I just want a good record (I‘m sure its going to be great!) and live shows. Even if someone doesn‘t like their upcoming albums, they release something and go on tour with it and most of us are happy about every show we can go to

Maybe Linkin Park could do with The Beatles did in the 90s for the Anthology. John Lennon was murdered in 1980, so in the early 90s, Yoko Ono gave Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr some cassette tapes of John and they added instrumentation and vocals on top! The end result were the singles Free as a Bird and Real Love. Maybe Linkin Park could do the same with demos which I'm sure Chester had lying around somewhere.

But I really think they're putting a lot of love and care into this one instead of just recording some fun "let's party" type album.

They have a lot of demos. Some of the demos ended up on the record and they still have some finisdhed songs. They found „lost“ in Joe‘s basement or something 😂

I‘m sure there‘s a ton for minutes to midnight. They recorded „Qwerty“ during that recording session and played it a year before the album release and changed the direction of the album during it. But they keep it open if they ever release more unreleased songs.

Any time I open up Instagram and it’s loading and I see Green Day has posted both a story and a main post, I get super excited. Really thought it was going to be an album announcement…it was simply the clothing line collab smh

Same.

So much disappointment for me. I always think it’s something great and it ends up being some collab with some other company or a re-issue or some old clip. I like that stuff but not after all the teases and waiting for something new.

I hope Billie Joe comes back to Instagram that was always fun. And the Longshot. It’s fucking boring waiting for nothing without him posting his random stuff.

The past two years have been a letdown most of the time.

People are speculating that they possibly did this to prepare the algorithms for the album announcement!!! They started being more active online in the past few days!!!

Your enthusiasm is wonderful. Thank you. I can be so negative but I’m not wrong either. It’s good to see the opposite perspective.

I want to believe, but their marketing is a shame... so I doubt.

Not at the quality of AI or Dookie. I meant, probably their best since AI. My vibes are positive these days:)

72 Seasons by Metallica is out today.    There is no mention of Green Day in the lyrics.  Bummer.

But has the "72" in It, certain that means something about 1972 of Green Day

I've been wondering why other punk bands like NOFX, offspring, Weezer, rancid etc aren't commercially successful as green day .. is it because they're aren't sellouts ?
